In this learning plan, you will earn the following digital credentials:
● Understand and use essential tools for handling files, directories, command-line
environments, and documentation
● Operate running systems, including booting into different run levels, identifying
processes, starting and stopping virtual machines, and controlling services
● Configure local storage using partitions and logical volumes
● Create and configure file systems and file system attributes, such as permissions,
encryption, access control lists, and network file systems
● Deploy, configure, and maintain systems, including software installation, update, and
core services
● Manage users and groups, including use of a centralized directory for authentication
● Manage security, including basic firewall and SELinux configuration
Prerequisites: It is expected that learners who undertake this learning path have some
technical knowledge; prerequisite learning or knowledge includes the following:
● Completion of this online training course, which includes a series of videos that will
provide you with a fundamental knowledge of supporting hardware and software
technologies in an IT infrastructure (note that these videos are available in English with
translated sub-title options); or,
● Relevant on-the-job experience using basic technical user skills with computer
applications on some operating systems.
Complete all the activities in the curriculum, including passing the exams, and become
a Red Hat Certified System Administrator.
