In the final year of the degree program every student needs to take up major Project Work. The Project
Work goes through internal as well as external evaluation components. Project coordinator floats the
theme-based project titles and problems through project guides. Each project team of 3 to 4 students
submit synopsis through the project guides to the project coordinator. The internal evaluation during
the seventh semester consists of two reviews, students are evaluated during the seventh semester by
various Committees (consisting of Supervisors and other Faculty Members) constituted by the project
coordinator in consultation with the HOD. In VTU-2018 scheme The total Marks allocated in the
phase-1 is 100 Marks. The two reviews include feasibility and Review Paper presentation. The phase-
II evaluation will be conducted at the eight semesters in 3 stages. The stages are Work Progress,
Final Presentation and Exhibition. The External Evaluation is conducted at the end of the eighth
semester as per university norms. The following tables outline the schematics, the timelines, the criteria
and the rubrics for various evaluations. The score in the Rubrics Tables is directly proportional to the
Marks in the Evaluation Criteria Tables. After review-II, the project team will be selected for the “Best
Project” award by the department. Project Students make a presentation before an Expert Committee.
The Evaluation Committee then scrutinizes the projects based upon a set of prescribed criteria.
CO1: Carry out extensive literature surveys to identify the problem and possible methodologies of
implementation.
CO2: Formulate the problem with suitable design specifications and constraints
CO3: Implement the chosen design with appropriate state-of-the-art techniques and tools.
CO4: Explain the performance and results with necessary tables and graphs in the report and
presentations
CO5: Validate the solutions through comparison with other existing techniques.
