G.BENEDIKT CROCKERY
The G.Benedikt collections integrate original shapes and attractive
decorations with an extraordinary mechanical ruggedness. Each
piece containing 135 years of experience.

Carlsbad Hard Porcelain – In the first firing at 950 degrees C

the product loses approx. 3% of their dimensions due to loss of
moisture. After this process the product “shard” is raw (rough). The
second firing @ 1,400 degrees C causes the product to lose a further
10%, and finishes the product, which now has the final proportions.

Decoration – To ensure all decoration is inglazed to withstand

the repetitive dishwashing demands of todays busy professional
kitchens, the product is fired at 1,250 degrees C.

Glaze – Carlsbad Hard Porcelain has a hardness number of 8 on the

Moh’s hardness scale. With Diamond having a hardness of 10, and
both Saphire and Ruby measuring a 9,
it’s clear to see the extreme hardness.

Heat Storage – The low level of porousness and the density of

the product give it an ability to remain pre-tempered, helping
to maintain the warmth of the food while serving.
