MEADOWBROOK
This simple scarf is an excellent alternative to your typical garter stitch or
ribbed scarf. Reversible ribbed cables are accented with a punch of color
and then flanked with another contrasting color, making it both relaxing and
stimulating to knit. The simplicity and classic lines of this scarf would make it
an ideal addition to anyone’s wardrobe.

CHADWICK
This modern interpretation of a shawl begins at the top, with the columns of
slipped stitches, and grows outward with increases. Clean lines and asymmetric
sections accent beautiful yarns and high contrast color choices. The resulting

URBANA
Simple garter stitch is showcased within this clever flowing shape that makes the
most of a yarn’s yardage. Make the smaller keyhole scarf or get cozy with a larger
wrap. Each size offers a relaxing canvas for you to play with different yarns and
colors. The perimeter and keyhole are outlined with a single crochet edge, but
feel free to experiment with other crochet edgings or an attached I-cord.

WESTWARD
Latvian braids border garter stitch while traveling slipped stitches point west-
ward in this adventurous design. Cast off at the end of the brim for a headband
or continue by working plump cables for a warm hat. Both options are full of
texture and would be well suited as gifts or a special project for yourself!
Finished Measurements: 21” / 53cm circumference. Hat is designed to fit an average 21” / 53cm
to 24” / 61cm circumference head. Hat and headband are shown on a 22.5” / 57cm head.
Yarn: Heavy worsted weight
Hat Color A: 110yds / 100m; Hat Color B: 40yds / 36.5m
Headband Color A: 45yds / 41m; Headband Color B: 40yds / 36.5m
Shown in: Malabrigo Twist (100% Merino; 150yds / 137m per 100g skein) Hat Color A: Zinc,
Hat Color B: Terron; Headband Color A: Green Gray, Headband Color B: Zinc
Needles: 1 set US 7 / 4.5mm DPNs
Notions: Cable needle, tapestry needle
Gauge: 16 sts = 4” / 10cm in garter stitch
Pattern Notes: Work with the same instructions for headband and hat until you either BO for
the headband or continue with the hat instructions. Different sizes can be achieved by altering
needle size or substituting a worsted weight yarn such as Malabrigo Worsted for a smaller hat.
Reading the Chart: Charted and written instructions are provided. However, rnd numbers
with a yellow box in the chart should be worked by following the written instructions. The
chart is read from right to left, starting at the bottom with rnd 1. Checking in with the written
instructions is recommended if you plan to use the chart.

Flagstone
Unique construction makes this garter stitch scarf interesting and fun to knit,
starting with a simple triangle. Another section is knit on a bias, and seamlessly
attached to the triangle as it is being worked. Blocks of color accentuate
Flagstone’s symmetry and geometric lines. The instructions work with three
colors, but it would be easy to use as many colors as your heart desires.
Finished Measurements: 14” / 35.5cm from triangle’s BO edge to center point, 61” / 155cm

SKINNY SKID
A stockinette stitch rolled edge quickly transitions into working with double
knitting to produce a clever and practical brim. The front layer is bound off,
creating space for little pockets all around the hat. Then, a background of stripes
features traveling slipped stitches that spiral and skid toward the top of the hat.
Options for a beanie or slouchy style hat are provided in three different sizes.
