Describe any three methods of adjusting the traverse. Find the coordinates of the point at which a line run from A on a bearing of N 100 E will cut the given traverse and find the length of this line. [10+10]

The following reciprocal observations were made from two points P and Q: Horizontal distance = 16440 m Angle of depression of Q at P = 00 3 42 Angle of depression of P at Q = 00 2 4 Heights of instrument at both P and Q = 1.42 m Height of signal at P and Q = 5.53 m Calculate: (a) The R.L. of Q, if that of P is 346.39 m; and (b) The average co-efficient of refraction at the time of observation. Take R sin 1 = 30.88 m.

Write short notes on the subtense bar and the anallatic lens. A staff is held at distances of 30.395 m and 91.936 m from the axis of a theodolite provided with fixed stadia hairs, the staff intercepts for horizontal sights being 0.305 and 0.915 respectively. Determine the constant of the instrument. Find the horizontal distance of the staff from the instrument when the intercept is 1.525 m if in this case the line of sight inclined at 100 to the horizontal. [10+10] What are the different linear methods for setting out simple circular curves. Explain the procedure to set out the curve by radial offsets from the tangents. Two straight BA and BC are intersected by a line EF. The angles BEF and EFC are 1400 and 1450, respectively. The radius of the first arc is 600 m and that of the second is 400 m. Find the chainages of the tangent points, and the point of compound curvature, given that the chainage of point A is 3415 m. [10+10]

A railway siding is to be curved through a right angle. In order to avoid buildings, the curve is to be compound, the radius of the two branches being 8 chains and 12 chains. The distance from the intersection point of the end straights to the tangent point at which the arc of 8 chains radius leaves straight is to be 10.08 chains. Obtain the second tangent length, or distance from the intersection point to the other end of the curve, and the length of the whole curve. [20] Describe Base Line corrections in detail. Two triangulation stations A and B are 40 km apart and have elevations of 178 m and 175 m respectively. Find the minimum height of signal required at B so that the line of sight may not pass nearer the ground than 3 m. The interveining ground may be assumed to have a uniform elevation of 150 m. [10+10] Describe the reduction of Soundings. What are three point problems? Briefly explain different methods of solving it. [10+10] What is polarization? What is the importance of polarization in microwave remote sensing? Explain about different geometric diststions that exists in Radar Imagery. [10+10]
