Lines Every 35mm

The document addresses a printing issue with Konica Minolta's magicolor 54X0 / 55X0 / 56X0 and 46x0 series printers, where lines appear every 35mm on printouts. This problem is caused by deformation of the developer rollers due to prolonged storage under pressure, which resolves itself within approximately 5 days of use. Users are advised that the recovery is more dependent on time rather than the number of pages printed.

Solution / Work-around / Answer:

The stripes occurring every 35 is a result of the material which is used for the developer rollers.
The developer rollers are made from a flexible material, the rollers might get slightly deformed due to a constant
pressure on the developer roller when the cartridges are stored for a longer period of time.

From the moment the printer is being used the developer rollers will start to rotate and this will bring the slightly
deformed developer rollers back into its normal shape.
The stripes will disappear in a period of approximately 5 days after the print unit has been installed in a working
printer.

Printout day 3 Printout day 4

Printout day 5

The period of 5 days is an average and can differ depending on the storage period of the print units.
The number of pages printed has less effect on the recovery of the deformation then the time period. Printing a
few pages per day will be enough to achieve the recovery.
