1. Why did you choose brinjal as your crop?

 Due to high demand in local markets, especially during winter.

2. What specific environmental conditions make your farm ideal for growing
brinjal?

 The farm has well-drained loamy soil which is suitable for brinjal cultivation.

3. Are there any common diseases that affect your brinjal crops? If yes, which
ones?

 Yes, Verticillium Wilt and Phomopsis Blight.

4. How do you manage or prevent these diseases?

 I practice crop rotation, remove infected plants, sterilize the soil, and apply
fungicides.

5. What pests affect your brinjal crops, and how do you control them?

 Aphids and Fruit Borers. I use neem oil, biological controls like ladybugs, and
remove affected fruits.

6. What are the main challenges you face in growing brinjal?

 Managing pest infestations and preventing disease outbreaks to avoid yield


losses.

 The farm has a moderate climate, sufficient rainfall, and suitable soil for
trellising.

9. Are there any diseases that commonly affect your granadilla crops?

 Yes, Fusarium Wilt and Brown Spot Disease.

10. What methods do you use to manage these diseases?

 I use resistant rootstocks, practice field sanitation, apply copper-based


sprays, and prune regularly.

11. What insects or pests affect your granadilla crops, and how do you control
them?

 Passionvine Hopper and Fruit Flies. I control them through pruning, baiting,
and using insecticidal soap.

12. What are the challenges you face when farming granadilla?

 Pest and disease management and maintaining fruit quality for market
standards.

 By vaccinating lambs, dipping sheep regularly, and controlling insect vectors.

 Pulpy Kidney: Sudden death, bloating, staggering.

 Sheep Scab: Itching, wool loss, skin crusts.

 Blue Tongue: Swollen tongue, fever, nasal discharge.

 They reduce flock size, increase medical expenses, lower wool and meat
quality, and affect income.
