To Admission Committee,

I’m enthusiast to apply for the PhD in Autophagy and Immunology at Max Delbruk Center,
enhancing my curiosity in infectious disease to get in-depth knowledge. I’ve read the project
details that correlates with my background to work in health sciences. I would like to express my
interest and motivation to get admission on scholarship. This course offers me a wide range of
health management courses and giving me a firm grip on infectious and non infectious diseases
specially to tackle pandemic. I am Muhammad Wajahat, professionally medical laboratory
scientist specialize in medical microbiology.
Currently, I’m serving in Islamabad Diagnostic Center, Pakistan giving my services in
molecular biology and microbiology. I have extensive practical experience of microbiological
techniques, including culture media preparation, inoculation and streaking, sensitivity and
resistance patterns, staining and microscopic feature identification on clinical, food and
environmental samples. My skill set aids in molecular techniques such as PCR, electrophoresis,
chromatography, ELISA, Gene expert, and mass spectrometry. I’ve hands on practices on
Isolation, identification, and DNA extraction from clinical, bacterial samples, and performing
molecular techniques.
I’ve performed my master research thesis “Detection of COVID-19 through time
polymerase chain reaction and its impact on hematological and biochemical parameters.”
COVID-19 caused an ongoing pandemic, with high transmission and mortality rates attracting the
researcher to focus on the disease. This study aimed to detect COVID-19 and follow the patients
for laboratory diagnosis and outcome of patients till recovery or death. These indicators support
the physician about the initial diagnosis and to identify the patient at risk. This minimizes the
patient’s complications and reduces the risk of transmission. My project highlights the centered
main pivotal point role of pathology department for early detection, enhanced diagnosis, and
productive prognosis of COVID-19.
“Extensive drug resistant pattern in Tuberculosis patients having relapsed admitted in
PIMS, Pakistan” In this project, I figure out the resistant pattern of Tuberculosis in patients
having worsened conditions and become relapsed. Socio economic status and poor management
causing patient condition worsen and make them miserable in society making them immune
suppress and depressed.
The academic standards, esteemed faculty, and collaborative environment offered by
German educational system perfectly align with my aspirations and research goals. As I have
worked in COVID-19 pandemic as front line health worker and help the public as well as medical
professionals to identify SARS-CoV-2 for prompt treatment. I am regularly following united
nation SDGs goals to promote better health services and ensure my participation in different
activities to highlight health and disease consequences. This makes my interest to identify
microbial resistance in the clinical samples and operation theater microbes resistant that may
leads to serious threat for patients. I’ve worked on “extensive drug resistance pattern in patients
infected with tuberculosis” funded by Pakistan Health research council. I work methodologically
and learn new techniques with ease and confidence. I felt capable of working independently to
achieve the assigned task. Besides college academics, I was actively involved in extra-curricular
activities. I’ve get certifications in Biosafty and biorisk management, bioterrorism that enhances
my health management skills. My proficiency extends to bioinformatics, computational and
statistical tools with practical training in primer designing, gene sequencing, and other technical
aspects of bioinformatics. This has provided me with in-depth knowledge about OMICS
revolution to predict pathogen by artificial intelligence.
My academic achievements reflect my dedication, perseverance, and passion for
knowledge acquisition. As a highly motivated and collaborative individual, I am confident that I
can contribute to your research goals. I have strong analytical and problem-solving skills,
excellent communication skills, and a track record of working effectively in diverse research
teams. In Germany, I would have an opportunity to gain advanced integrated practical
experience in a wide range of laboratory experimental techniques in an extensive research
focused environment with OMICS revolution and genetics on which modern world is currently
focusing. These research projects empower me in multidisciplinary knowledge and skills to apply
in a diverse range of clinical diagnostic area.
The international exposure that your institute provides aligns perfectly with my
aspiration to work alongside recognized scientists. Let me know if I can provide additional
information or materials to aid you in the evaluation of my application. Thank you in advance for
considering my application, and I look forward to hearing from you. Best
Regards,
Muhammad Wajahat
