There is no shortcut to success
Success isn't a destination, but an adventurous journey. All of us want some sort of success in
our lives, and since each of us are unique, we have unique definitions of success. For most of
us though, success is portrayed and wealth, fame, happiness, influence, and an everlasting
name in history. All of these remarkable milestones take time, and are a result of sole hard work,
persistence, and a spirit of overcoming challenges, for which there are no shortcuts.
In today's day and age of instant gratification and services, it becomes extremely challenging to
have a tenacious mindset. With a few clicks you can order anything and it will reach your
doorstep in a few minutes. Doom Scrolling reduces perseverance. Influencers on social media,
falsely advertise quick ways to earn money. These have a detrimental effect on our willpower to
strive harder to achieve our goals and become successful instead it deceitfully trains our mind
that even success can be achieved rapidly. We have to be persistent in our efforts, no matter
how difficult the situation is. Helen Keller, who became deaf and blind in her infancy, overcame
her disability to become a prominent author, political activist and lecturer. Alyssa, a young girl
by an unfortunate accident, had her leg amputated. Yet today she is a successful dancer. These
instances depict rising above all odds, and persistently striving for excellence, are the process
of success to which there are no alternatives.
Success is a product of perpetual endeavors despite facing setbacks. A testament to this is Sir
Thomas Alva Edison, where he unceasingly put efforts into the invention of the light bulb, which
not only lit up the world, but also enlightened the world on the result of unwavering persistence
which ultimately led to success. Nine-thousand-nine-hundred and ninety nine times, Edison
faced failure, but after each time he learnt from the mistakes he made, and tried harder each
time. Edison's ability to view failure as a stepping stone rather than a roadblock exemplifies the
mindset required for true success. Many other scientists and their strong commitment and
relentless pursuit of knowledge laid the groundwork for groundbreaking discoveries that have
shaped the world as we know it. We all have heard of J.K. Rowling, the author of the Harry
Potter series. Before becoming one of the best-selling authors in the world, she faced numerous
rejections from publishers. Instead of giving up, she learned from each rejection and continued
to hone her craft. This shows that resilience, perseverance and a spirit of overcoming
challenges surely weaves the path to success.
