Prius_PWM

This document outlines the use of the PWM macro for simulating a Prius motor at constant speed, detailing the steps to create I/O parameters and tension sources. It presents results comparing torque and iron losses with and without PWM, indicating that PWM results in 1.5% lower torque and 14.39% higher iron losses. The document concludes with a summary of the findings and their implications for motor performance.

Introduction
This document deals with how to use the macro PWM, the example used is
the simulation of Prius motor at constant speed
On this example there are three sources so we must use the macro three
times
Each time we select the right phase.

Step 1
Create the I/O parameter « PWM » for each tension source thanks to the Macro:
For V_1: For V_2: For V_3:

Step 2
Create tension sources and put parameters « PWM » as formula:

V_1

V_2

V_3

Conclusion

Comparison With PWM Without PWM

Torque (mean value) 405 Nm 411 Nm

Iron losses (mean value between LS and Bertotti model) 158.8W 135.96W

With PWM torque is 1.5% lower and iron losses are 14.39% higher
