accordance with Regulations EN81 1 and EN81 2. -

CHARACTERISTICS
Programming of ALJOTRONIC control panels is completed with a small terminal called Maintenance
Pocket. This device can be connected to the following control panels:

- Control 1
- Control Level
- Control IB
For working with Control 1 control panel, it is necessary that the Maintenance Pocket includes a 9V
battery. For other control panels (Control Level and Control IB), the power supply for the
Maintenance Pocket is supplied by the control panel, therefore it is not necessary to include a battery.

Maintenance Pocket includes the following options:

- Check the state of the elevator.


- Make car calls.
- Listing failures
- Erase failures
- Programming control panel
- Autotest
These are the steps that must be followed by working with the Maintenance Pocket:

1, Connect the Maintenance Pocket to the electronic board.

2 ~ Activate the Maintenance Pocket. The Maintenance Pocket can now communicate with the
electronic board. The finst step is to check that the Maintenance Pocket password is the same,
as the password of the electronic board.

3. If the Maintenance Pocket password is the same, as the password of the electronic board,
the pocket will show the ‘Position and Direction” option

4- If the Maintenance Pocket password is not the same, as the password of the electronic
board, the pocket will sliow the following:

Now, it is possible to enter a password to try to communicate with the electronic board, but if
you do not know the password of the electronic board, you must communicate with Aljo
technical service, in the following example, you can check the steps to enter a password to try
to communicate with the electronic board. The maximum length of the password is 7
characters.

Example: We are going to enter the password “246813”, Steps:

1. POSITION AND DIRECTION
If the elevator is not functioning, the Maintenance Pocket will show a message showing the failure. If
the elevator is in another situation, the Maintenance Pocket will show the following:

STOP: .... NEXT STOP


DOOR SCREEN: «M

STATE 80% LOAD


MODE

STOP: This shows the level where the elevator is stopped{lowest level is stop 0).

NEXT STOP: Shows the next level that the elevator will stop. If there are no calk, it shows blank.

DOOR: Shows the doors stating, opening “<][>” or closing “>][<".

SCREEN: Number of the screen that has been detected by the elevator (lowest screen is number 0).

STATE: Shows the state of the elevator. Examples are as follows:

RUN . Elevator is travelling
STOPPED.- Elevator has stopped
CORRECTION .- Elevator is doing a recovery run to level zero.
INSPECTION: Elevator is in inspection.

80% LOAD (Complete): When the car load is 80% or higher, the Maintenance pocket shows the
message. In other cases, it shows blank characters.

MODE: shows whether the elevator is working in duplex or not with another elevator. In duplex, it
shows if the elevator is working in Master mode (the shaft calls are checked by the electronic board and
it communicates with another elevator for travelling to that level) or in Slave mode (the electronic board
communicates with another elevator for travelling to a shall call). This is used to show if the fire service
switch is activated or not

If any key is pressed, the display will show the following menu.

2. MAIN MENU
These are the options of the menu:

The cursor is showed flashing in the selected option. Press the key or the “ 4'” key to change the
selected option, and press die “JT key for validate the option.

In the previous table six options are shown, but the screen has only four lines, with four options shown
each time. To select anotiier option different to the options showed in four lines, press die ” key or
the ‘A” key up to die display will show other options.

3, MAKE CALL
The option works if the elevator is in RUN mode or in STOPPED mode.

When this option is validated, the pocket will show “STOP:”, enter the level number. Remember the
lowest level is 0.

4, ELEV. PROGRAMMING
This option is used to change the programming of the elevator. In die following table, all the parameters
that can be changed are shown:

Before selecting the elevator programming option, select the Normal / Inspection switch to Inspection
and wait until the pocket will show Inspection mode. In other cases, the pocket will show:

After pressing any key, the pocket will show the position and direction menu; therefore the procedure
must be repeated.

If everything is correct the pocket will show:

Elevator programming is divided in two levels:

- First level: the main parameters are programmed (number of stops, type of machine, type of
doors, etc.)

- Second level: special parameters are programmed from the elevator (screens overlapped,
,

delays, etc.)

If you 'want to change one parameter of the first level it is not necessary to enter the second level.
However, at the end of the first level the pocket will show:

To change the option press key or press key, and after press “JT key to validate the
option If the validation option is ‘'No”, the pocket will update the parameters of the electronic board,
but if the validation option is ‘Yes”, the pocket will show the second level of parameters. On showing
all the parameters, it will update the parameters of the electronic board.

If the electronic board programmed is Control IB type and has a software version V3.0 or higher, then
the pocket will show:

When the pocket shows that message, switch number 3 of Control IB must be placed in OFF position

parameters will not be updated in the electronic board correctly.

If the electronic board updates the parameters correctly, the pocket will show

The message is shown in the pocket for two seconds. If the message is not shown, the programming
procedure must be repeated.

When the pocket shows the message, the electronic board is updating the parameters and the led called
_
CPU OK placed in Control IB electronic board must be flashing fester than normal. When the
flashing quickly finishes, switch number 3 of Control IB electronic board must be placed in the ON
position

In some parameters there are options that ate not shown, or in the first character of the line is
-
shown“'«-”, or in the last character of the lines is shown“ » ”. If the ” key or the key is
pressed, the pocket will show those options.

Sometimes it is necessary to enter a number, use the numbers keys.

In all the options, it is possible to return back to the previous option, to check the data or to modify the
data.

In all the options, it is possible to leave the j ting without modifying the parameters. Use the
“EXIT’ opticn.

With the “SAME” option, the parameter is not modified and the following parameter is selected.

To change the value of any parameters use the “CHANGE” option, after entering the new data, where
the following parameter is selected

All the parameters show the current value. To select a new parameter, or to validate a new value, it is
necessary to press “J ” key.

FIRST LEVEL PARAMETERS

4.1 CONTROL SYSTEM TYPE


This parameter is used to programme the type of control.

- Universal
- Down collective
- Collective (Full collective
)

4.2 NUMBER OF STOPS


Ihis parameter is used to programme the number of steps in the elevator.

4.3 TYPE MACHINE


Ihis parameter is used to programme the type of machine of the elevator.

- 1-speed
- 2-speeds (
- Hydraulic same for direct starter and for star- delta starter)
- VVVF

4.4 TYPE OF DOORS
This parameter is used to programme the type of doors of the elevator. The first character is the
car doors and the second character is shaft doors.

- M- M: Manual - manual. This option too must be used when there are no car doors.
- A-M; Auiwiimitic - manual
- A-A; Automatic - automatic

In an installation with some floors with A A doors and with other floors with A-M doors, A-M
doors must be programmed.

4.5 TYPE OF R . CAM


This option will be showed only with manual shaft doors.

This parameter is used to programme the retiring cam of the elevator.

- Electric
- Mechanical
4.6 TYPE OF CONNECTION
This parameter is used to programme if the elevator works with another in duplex or not.

- Simplex
- Duplex
4.6.1 LOWER STOP
This mm will be showed only with duplex.

This parameter is used to programme the lower level of this elevator. In a duplex
system, one of the elevators can have more stops than the other.

Can be programmed between 0 and “number of stops 2”. -


4.6.2 UPPER STOP
This menu will be showed only with duplex.

This parameter is used to programme the higher level of this elevator. In a duplex
system, one of the elevators can have more stops than the other.

Example: one elevator has 8 levels, from floor - 1 to floor 6, and the another elevator
have 7 levels, from floor 1 to floor 7 ,

Programming of elevator with 7 levels: Number of stops; 9


Lower stop: 2
Upper stop: 8

4.7 LOBBY
This parameter is used to programme the level which is the lobby. Remember lowest level is
stop 0.

Can be programmed between 0 and “number of stops - 1”

4.8 OPENING DOORS TIME


This menu will not be showed with M-M doors .

This parameter is used to programme the time used to open doors. Check the time used to
totally open the doors and programme the parameter with the value increased by one or two
seconds.

Can be programmed between ] and 20 seconds.

4.9 CLOSING DOORS TIME

This menu will not be showed with M M doors.

This parameter is used to programme the time used to close doors. Check the time used to
totally dose the doors and programme the parameter with (lie value increased by one or two
seconds.

Can be programmed between 1 and 20 seconds. When 20 seconds are programmed, the
control panel is without any time limit, which means the dose sign is activated and the control
panel waits until the doors are totally closed without time limit

4.10 DOORS STATUS PARKING


This menu will not be showed with M-M doors.

This parameter is used to programme, if the elevator is stationery with opened or closed doors. -
- OPENED: Elevator will park with open doors.

- CLOSED: After some time without calls (this time is programmable), the elevator will
park with close doors.

NOTE: According to EN81, an elevator with automatic shaft doors must be parked with
closed doors.

4.10.1 CLOSING DOOR TIME


This menu is showed only if it was programmed parking with closed doors.

This parameter is used to programme the time that the elevator must be stopped before
parking with closed doors.

Can be programmed between 5 and 255 seconds.

4.11 PARKING AT LEVEL


This parameter is used to programme if the elevator will go to one stop or not, when it has been
waiting some time without calls.

4.11.1 PARKING FROM ALL LEVELS OR PARKING


FROM LOWER LEVELS
This menu is showed only if it was programmed “parking at level: Yes”.

This parameter is used to programme if the elevator will go to the parking level, from all
the stops or only from the stops lower than the lobby.

4.11.2 PARKING STOP


This menu is showed only if it was programmed “parking at level: Yes”.

This parameter is used to programme the parking level. Remember the lowest
level is 0.

Can be programmed between 0 and “number of stops 1”. —


4.11.3 DELAY TIME BEFORE PARKING
This menu is showed only if it was programmed “parking at level: Yes”.

This parameter is used to programme the time that the elevator must stop before it is
stationery.

Can be programmed between 5 and 255 seconds.

SECOND LEVEL PARAMETERS

4.12 MAXIMUM REOPENINGS TIME

This menu will not be showed with M M doors.

This parameter is used to programme the number of times that the reopening button in the car
will be accepted. After these times, the button will be bypassed and the doors will close.

Can be ijiOKtililiilied between 0 and 31. Programming a value higher than 29 means that the car
reopening button will be always accepted.

4.13 DELAY IN LOBBY


This menu will not be showed with universal control system.

This parameter is used to programme the time delay from the opening and closing of the doors
(with some calls activated). This parameter is only for the lobby.

Can be programmed between 1 and 10 seconds.

4.14 DELAY IN THE OTHER STOPS


This menu will not be showed with universal control system.

This parameter is used to programme the time delay from the opening and closing of the doors
( with some call activated). This parameter is for all the levels, except the lobby area.

Can be progra «IKIIM41 between 1 and 10 seconds.

4.15 MAXIMUN NUMBER OF STARTS PER HOUR


This parameter is used to programme the amount of starts that will be done each hour. This is
used to avoid the overheating of the engine. The machine is designed between 120 and 150
starts per hour.

Can be programmed between 10 and 255.

If the elevator moves many times, the starts will be delayed, so that the number of starts each
hour will not be higher than the number programmed.

4.16 CAR PREFERENCE TIME


This menu will be showed with universal control system.

This parameter is used to programme the time delay from the opening of the doors to shaft calls
are accepted. However, during this time the calls are accepted from the car.

4.17 SCREENS
This menu will not be showed with one speed elevators.

Screens are used to check the level at which the elevator is situated and to cheek the speed that
must be used for the travels.

In this option, the function of each screen and its associated stop are programmed (the stop
where is placed the screen).

There are five functions for the screens:

STOP .- Stop screen. This is used for the elevator stops.

SGD Change of speed going down. It is used to change the speed of the elevator
when it is travelling down.

SGU Change of speed jping up, This is used to change the speed of the elevator
when it is travelling up.

STOP (X) + SGU (X+l ).~ This screen has two uses:
P ) Stop screen of stop X
T ) Change of speed going up to stop X+ l

For example: if it is programmed associated stop: 3, it means that the stop screen relates
to number 3. This indicates the change of speed going up screen for stop number 4.

STOP (X) + SGD (X - 1).- This screen has two uses:


P ) Stop screen of stop X
2* ) Change of speed going down to stop X- l

For example: if it is programmed associated stop: 6, it means that the stop screen relates
to number 6. This indicates that the change of speed going down screen is for stop
number 5.

The screens can be programmed in two ways:

- Normal
- Overlapped

4.17 1 NORMAL SCREENS
Most of the elevators can be programmed with normal screens. When this option is
selected, the pocket programme of the screen automatically follows:

4.17.2 OVERLAPPED SCREENS
This is used when the distance between floors are short

When this option is selected, the screens must be programmed one by one (the function
and the associated stop of each screen must be programmed).

The pocket shows die order and number of the screens (lowest screen is screen number
0): SCREEN 0, and the function are actually programmed (STOP, SGD, SGU, to
change the function, select the option “change”. After programming the function of the
.
screen, the pocket shows the stop associated to the screen: STOP The way to change
the associated stop is the same as programming the function of the screen (remember
lowest level is stop 0).

The previous procedure must be repeated for each screen.

In the following examples, there are different reasons for programming overlapped
screens:

- Short distance between two consecutive floors, but the distance is enough to place the
change of speed screens.

Example: SGU for stop 4 and SGD for stop 5 are overlapped

- Short distance between two consecutive floors; the distance is not enough to place the
change of speed screens, but the distance is enough for deceleration

Example: Between stops 1 and 2, the SGD screen for stop 1 is the same screen as that
for STOP screen 2, and the SGU screen for stop 2 relates to the STOP screen 1.
When the elevator stops at level 0 and the next stop is level 2, it will decelerate in the
screen programmed STOP (stop 1) + SGU (stop 2). When the elevator stops at level 1
and the next stop is level 2, or contrary, the elevator will start in low speed

- Short distance between two consecutive floors is not enough for change of speed
screens and the distance is not enough for deceleration.

Example: Between fevels 3 and 4 , the SGD screen of level 3 is placed over the stop
screen of level 4 and the SGU screen of level 4 is placed below the stop screen of level
3. When the elevator stops at level 3 and the next stop is level 4, or contrary, the
elevator will start in low speed.

4.18 STOPS PERMITTED OR FORBIDDEN


This parameter is used to programme if any stop is forbidden.

The forbidden stop means that the car and shaft tails of that stop will not be accepted.

The pocket shows if any stop must be forbidden, normally the answer will be no (all the stops
will be permitted automatically). Therefore, the stop by stop must be programmed permitted or
forbidden

4.19 POSITIONAL INDICATOR


This parameter is used to programme the communication protocol used between the control
panel and the positional indicators.

4.19.1 DOT MATRIX POSITIONAL INDICATOR


Dot matrix positional indicator can show two characters (number, letters, etc), with
scrolling. It can shows direction arrows.

4.19.2 SEVEN SEGMENTS POSITIONAL INDICATOR


Seven segments positional indicator can show numbers between -7 and 19 and the
following letters: A, b, C, d, E, F, H, L, o, P, r, U

Dot matrix positional indicator ami seven segments positional indicator can work with dot matrix
protocol. This parameter must be programmed in all the control panels like dot matrix.

For example, in the installation, a dot matrix positional indicator can be used in the car and
seven segments positional indicator in the shaft, but in this case the control panel can not be
programmed to show for example “PB” (reason: the seven segments can not show)

4.19.3 CORRELATIVE OR NON CORRELATIVE


When the option CORRELATIVE is selected, the pocket is automatically programmed
to the lobby e.g. 0. The lower levels from the lobby will be negative correlative numbers
( 1, 2 ...), and upper levels from (he lobby will be correlative numbers (1, 2 ).

When the option NON CORRELATIVE is selected, stop by stop MUST BE
1, for which the numbers or letters show the posi il indicator.

4.20 MAXIMUM NUMBER OF CALLS


This menu will not be showed with universal control system.

This parameter is used to programme the number of car calls that can be registered at the same
time. Normally it must be programmed according to the number of stops and the maximum
number of persons in the car.

Can be programmed between 1 and number of stops.

4.21 MAXIMUM TRAVELLING TIME
This parameter is used to programme, in seconds, the maximum time that the elevator can travel
without detecting failure.

To correct the programming, check time used for travels between top and bottom level and
increase it by 5 or 10 seconds.

Can be programmed between 10 and 255 seconds.

4.22 MAXIMUM SCREEN TIME


This parameter is used to programme the time that the elevator can travel without detecting a
screen.

In the worst case, to correct the programming, check the time (higher time between screens)
and increase it by 5 or 10 seconds.

Can be programmed between 2 and 44 seconds.

4.23 DELAY BEFORE OPENING DOORS


This menu will not be showed with M-M doors.

This parameter is used to programme time between the elevator levels and the doors start to
open.

Can be programmed between 0 and 100 (1/ 10 seconds)

4.24 DELAY BEFORE CLOSING DOORS


This menu will not be showed with M-M doors.

This parameter is used to programme the time before the doors start dosing after calls have
been accepted.

Can be programmed between 0 and 100 (1/10 seconds)

4.25 LEVELLING TIME


This menu will not be showed with one or two speed elevators.

This parameter is used to programme the delay between the second detector (lower detector

This parameter is used to programme the working of the programmable output These arc the
possibilities:

- OCCUPIED LIGHT: the output will be activated when the elevator is travelling.
- OPEN DOORS: the output will be activated when the landing doors are opened.
- ACCEPTED LIGHT: the output will be activated when the elevator stops on that floor
(only for duplex), for people placed in the shaft be informed the elevator that stops.

4.29 PROGRAMABLE INPUT


This menu will be showed only with Control IB electronic boards.

Hus parameter is used to programme the function of the programmable input These are the
possibilities:

- FIRE SERVICE: when the independent service switch (placed in car) is activated,
shaft calls are not accepted, only car calls are accepted (one by one).

-OVERHEAT ENGINE: this option is not ready and must be programmed if there is
not an independent service switch in the ear.

4.30 PHOTOCELL
This parameter is used to programme if the contact of the photocell is normally opened or
closed.

4.31 ADVANCED OPENING


This menu will be showed only with hydraulic elevators and VWF elevators, including
automatic landing doors.

This parameter is used to programme, if the elevator will do an advanced opening or not.

When the first detector (upper detector when the elevator is going up or lower detector when
the elevator is going down ) detects the stop screen, the elevator will start to open the doors.

4.32 VWF MOTOR WITH OR WITHOUT ENCODER


This menu will be showed only with VWF elevators, including the Control IB electronic
boards.

This parameter is used to programme, if the machine motor has an encoder or not

This parameter is used for Omron frequency converters. With Vaeon frequency converters, this
must be programmed without an encoder (even if the machine includes an encoder).

4.32.1 TIME OF ELECTRIC BRAKE


This menu will be stowed only if it was programmed, that the motor of the machine has
an encoder.

This parameter is used to programme the time used to stop the machine with DC current
(used in the starting and stopping of the machine for comfort).

Can be programmed between 0 and 50 (1/10 seconds).

5. LISTING FAILURES

With this option, the pocket will show up to 50 failures stored in the electronic board. The first failure
stowed in the pocket is the last Mure. ii

1 . - Elevators with Control l ß control panel
The items delivered to work as PMS, PMB, CMS and CMB, are biestable magnetic
detectors, which open or close its contacts according to the magnetic field that they
detect, The north magnetic field will close the contact and the south magnetic field will
open it, The north magnetic field will be clearly marked and the south magnetic field is
blank,

In elevators with Control IB, the PMS and CMS are located in the upper part of the
shaft and in the same vertical positions, in the car there are two magnets in the same
vertical position, one is called upper magnet and is placed some centimeters above the
position of the second, called lower magnet. Both magnets are used for activating and
deactivating PMS and CMS; one has the north magnetic field facing the detectors and
the another has the south magnetic field facing the detectors. The upper magnet will
close the contact of the detectors and the lower magnet will open the contact of the
detectors.

When the car is below the position of the CMS, the CMS contact must be closed. When
the elevator is going up and the upper magnet is in front of the CMS, the contact still
close. When the elevator continues going up further and the lower magnet is in front of
the CMS, the CMS contact must be opened.

W en the CMS contact is opened , the elevator is going down and the lower magnet is in

front of the CMS, the contact still open. When the elevator continues going down
further and the upper magnet is in front of the CMS, the CMS contact must be closed.
The same process is applied for PMS.

In elevators with Control IB, the PMB and CMB are located in the lower part of the
shaft, they are in the same vertical positions. However, the PMS and CMS are in
another vertical position . In the car there are two magnets in the same vertical position,

same process is applied for PMB.
2 , - Elevators with Control 2 control panel (except SKM machine
roomless elevators)
The procedure for elevators with Control IB control panel can be applied , except that
PMS and PMB do not exist .

3. SKM machine roomless elevators

The items delivered to work as CMS and CMB, are btestable magnetic detectors, which

AUTODIALLING SYSTEM MANUAL

INTRODUCTION

This autodialling system is compliant with the European Lift Directive EN 81 1 :1998 -

coming into force on July I* , 1999 . :

Through this system the following communications can be achieved:

1.- between CAR and the exterior (article 14.2. 3.1)

2. between PIT and the exterior (article 5 ,10)
-
3. between CAR ROOF and exterior (article 5.10)

Alt these communications are carried out through an external telephone line.

GENERAL PROVISIONS

MICOM system allows communication by an external telephone line in car.
Communication with car roof , pit or machines room is optional .
By pressing Ibe alarm pushbutton in car , pit or car roof, the desired telephone
number is automatically dialled. |
Communication will be cut off by either , pressing the pushbutton a second time or
after three minutes . !

Up to 4 telephone numbers can be pre- programmed and will be used in case the
first number is engaged.
If only one telephone number is required, just programme the same number four
times -
The numbers to be programmed can be up t ó 24 digits long .
There is a choice of pulse or tone dialling systems. "* '

In addition the pushbutton pressing time to make the call can be programmed
between 1 and 9 seconds.
A 12 V cc supply from the battery of the junction box is required .

OPERATION ( only external communication )

By pressing the pushbutton in car , the alarmwill sound immediately on car roof.
The telephone call to the programmed number will be made by pressing the alarm

pushbutton in the allocated time. ‘
The call can be made from the pit and the car roof by pressing the supplied
pushbuttons.
When the communication has been established with the programmed number,

A continuaci ó n se describe como programar ia tarjeta Control 3 B con versiones de
software 3.00 o superiores

I ° ~ Poner ia maniobra en revision con ei conmutador Normal / ( nspecci ó n del techo de


la cabina. o poniendo el switch 2 de la tarjeta Control IB en ON .

2°- Una vez que ei pocket de mantenimiento indique que la maniobra esta en revision ,
poner ei switch 3 de la tarjeta Control IB en OFF, y modifiear la programaci ón con el
pocket de mantenimiento . Durante ei tiempo que esta grabändose la programact ö n en la
tarjeta Control IB, el led cie CPU VIVA fled verde) parpadearä a mayor veJocidacl de ia
normal, ana vez se haya acabado ese parpadeo mas rapido de lo normal poner el switch
3 de la tarjeta Control IB en ON .

3°~ Finaimente poner la maniobra en normal con el conmutador Normal / Inspeeeion del
techo de la cabina, y poniendo el switch 2 de la tarjeta Control IB en OFF.

Es muy importante que cuando se apague y se encienda la maniobra, el switch 3 de la


tarjeta Control IB esté siempre en posici ón ON para evitar una posible perdida de los
datos de la memoria eeprom .

Below it is explained the way to program the Control IB with software version 3.00 or
higher

1°- Select Normal/ Inspection switch located on the car roof connection box on
Inspection or select switch 2 located in Control IB electronic main board in ON ( to
select control panel on inspection )

-
2° When the pocket shows “Inspection ”, select switch 3 of Control IB electronic board
in OFF. After changing the parameters with tire maintenance pocket , the green led
“CPU OK ” will be flashing at higher speed (faster than it is flashing normally) . When
the Cist flashing has finished , select switch 3 of Control 1 B electronic board to ON .

3°- Finally select Nortnal / Inspection switch located on car roof connection box on
Normal and select switch 2 located in Control IB electronic mam board in OFF ( to
select control panel on normal )

IT is very important that in power supply off and in power supply on . the switch 3
placed in Control I ß electronic board be t.n ON position this is for avoid a modification
,

of the programming stored in the eeprom memory.
