Preface
In a world where spiritual battles are often
invisible yet deeply impactful, the quest for
deliverance from demonic oppression and the
influence of false deities remains one of the most
urgent and sacred pursuits of our time. It is
within this divine mission that Freedom from
Demons and Deities finds both its purpose and
its voice.
As the author of this book, I am both humbled
and honored to walk this journey with you, dear
reader. My name is Peterson Abu, and through
years of personal encounters, spiritual
exploration, and diligent study of the Scriptures,
I have come to grasp the profound reality of
spiritual warfare in the life of every believer.
4
These pages are far more than ink on
paper—they are a testimony to the liberating
power of Jesus Christ, who alone has the
authority to break every chain and set the
captives free. Drawing from the timeless truth of
God's Word, personal experiences, and practical
insight, Freedom from Demons and Deities seeks
to be a light in the midst of darkness—guiding
you toward spiritual clarity, freedom, and
wholeness.
In the chapters ahead, we will explore the depths
of demonic oppression, expose the tactics of the
enemy, and uncover the spiritual authority we
possess in Christ. We will confront the deceptive
power of false deities and the perils of idolatry,
while magnifying the sovereignty of God over
every force of darkness.
5
Yet, this book is more than a theological
exposition—it is a call to action. A call to rise in
faith, to resist the schemes of the enemy, and to
walk in the glorious liberty that Christ has
secured for you. My heartfelt prayer is that as
you engage with these truths, the Holy Spirit
will grant you a deeper revelation of God’s
unfailing love, His mighty power, and His desire
to see you completely free.
May Freedom from Demons and Deities be a
beacon of hope and a wellspring of strength on
your spiritual journey. And may it empower you
to stand boldly, confront the darkness with
courage, and embrace the abundant life that is
rightfully yours in Christ Jesus.
In His service,
Peterson Abu

Part I:
Understanding Demonic Influence
14
Chapter One
Demons
Laying the Foundation: Understanding
Demonology
It is only fitting to begin this book with a
foundational chapter on demonology. By
doing so, I aim to equip you with the
necessary understanding to fully grasp and
apply the truths presented in the chapters that
follow.
The terms demons, devils, evil spirits, and
unclean spirits appear repeatedly throughout
Scripture—particularly in the New
15
Testament—highlighting the undeniable
reality of their existence and activity in the
spiritual realm.
For every believer, gaining insight into how
demons operate is not merely beneficial, it is
biblical. Jesus Christ, throughout His earthly
ministry, consistently demonstrated His
authority over demonic forces.
This book does not glorify the devil or his
agents; rather, it exalts the supremacy of
Christ and the victory we have in Him. Every
section on demonic activity is included to
affirm Christ’s dominion and to help
believers walk in the liberty He has secured.
At the end of each chapter, you’ll find
powerful prayer points. I strongly encourage
16
you to engage with them prayerfully and with
faith, as they are designed to activate spiritual
insight, break strongholds, and enforce your
freedom in Christ.
The purpose of this book is to teach, guide,
and equip believers for victory over demonic
manipulation and oppression. Demons are
real—both Scripture and numerous religions
testify to their presence and influence. To
build a holistic understanding, let us begin by
examining what demons are from the
standpoint of various belief systems,
including Christianity.
Demons are supernatural entities, often
depicted as malevolent and powerful beings
in religious and cultural traditions.
17
Throughout history and across civilizations,
they have been associated with destruction,
wickedness, and rebellion against divine
order.
In many religious contexts, demons are
believed to be fallen angels—spiritual beings
who rebelled against God's authority. Their
role is often linked to temptation, oppression,
and spiritual corruption. They influence
human behavior, incite immoral actions, and
work tirelessly to separate people from God's
truth.
In Christianity, demons are considered
emissaries of Satan, striving to carry out his
evil agenda among humanity. Their goal is to
deceive, enslave, and destroy—but Christ has
18
already disarmed them through His finished
work on the Cross.
In Islam, demons are referred to as
jinn—intelligent beings created from
smokeless fire. They possess free will, and
while some are good, others are evil. The
Qur'an affirms their ability to possess and
mislead humans.
In mythologies and cultural folklore,
demons often take various terrifying
forms—sometimes linked to elements like
fire, darkness, or chaos—and are believed to
wield supernatural powers capable of
afflicting individuals, communities, or
regions.
19
As we embark on this exploration of
demonology, may your heart be anchored in
truth, your spirit strengthened in faith, and
your mind renewed with the knowledge that
greater is He who is in you than he who is in
the world (1 John 4:4).
It is crucial to note that views on demons
vary greatly among cultures and religions.
Some people think that demons exist as
separate beings, while others see them as
symbolic representations of inner
psychological or spiritual problems.
The Christian Perspective on Demons
In the Christian faith, demons are understood
to be spiritual beings who once dwelt in the
20
presence of God but fell from grace through
rebellion. Aligning themselves with
Satan—the arch-enemy of God and a fallen
angel—they now serve as agents of darkness,
working tirelessly to oppose the will of God
and deceive humanity.
This belief is firmly rooted in the revelation
of Scripture. Throughout the New Testament,
there are numerous accounts of demonic
activity, particularly during the earthly
ministry of Jesus Christ. The Gospels record
several instances where Jesus confronted and
cast out demons, delivering those who were
tormented in body, mind, and spirit. These
encounters reveal the destructive power of
demons and the unmatched authority of
Christ to overcome them.
21
In biblical theology, demons are portrayed as
subordinates of Satan, carrying out his evil
agenda in the world. They are active
participants in spiritual warfare, seeking to
lead people into sin, sow doubt and rebellion,
and obstruct the purposes of God in the lives
of His people. Their mission is to distort
truth, foster suffering, and derail the destiny
of individuals and nations alike.
One of the ways the Church confronts
demonic influence is through the practice of
exorcism—the casting out of demons by
invoking the name and authority of Jesus
Christ. This is not merely a ritual, but a
spiritual confrontation grounded in the
believer’s faith in the finished work of the
Cross. Through the power of the Holy Spirit,
22
deliverance is made possible, and the
oppressed are set free.
In Scripture, demons are consistently
portrayed as enemies of God’s divine order,
that is, entities committed to sabotaging the
redemptive plan of salvation and warring
against the souls of men. For the believer, the
reality of demons is not a subject of
superstition but a sobering reminder of the
ongoing battle between light and darkness.
While various cultures and religions offer
differing interpretations of demonic beings,
this book upholds the authority of Scripture
as the final and infallible source of truth
concerning demons and spiritual warfare.
The Bible is not merely a religious text—it is
23
the inspired Word of God, divinely revealed
for doctrine, correction, and instruction in
righteousness.
As the Apostle Paul wrote:
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of
God, and is profitable for doctrine, for
reproof, for correction, for instruction in
righteousness.”
— 2 Timothy 3:16
And again:
“Knowing this first, that no prophecy of
the Scripture is of any private
interpretation. For the prophecy came not
in old time by the will of man: but holy
men of God spake as they were moved by
24
the Holy Ghost.”
— 2 Peter 1:20–21
It is on this unshakable foundation—the
revealed Word of God—that our
understanding of demons, and indeed our
victory over them, must be built.
What Are Demons?
Demons are spiritual, bodiless, and
supernatural entities that serve as agents of
Satan. They work in alliance with the Devil
to execute his evil schemes and carry out his
malicious intentions against humanity. The
Devil, also known as the adversary of
mankind, is a master of deception—an
accuser, a seducer, and a destroyer. His
ultimate goal is to defile, torment, and
25
humiliate the human race, and he enlists
demonic spirits to assist in fulfilling these
wicked objectives.
While the Old Testament briefly references
the presence and influence of demonic forces,
it is in the New Testament that their activities
are clearly and extensively revealed. The
ministry of Jesus Christ offers vivid insights
into the operations of demons, and
significantly, Christ bestowed upon His
followers the authority to cast out demons in
His name before His ascension. This divine
empowerment is available to every believer
today.
Unfortunately, many Christians
misunderstand the difference between
26
demons and fallen angels, and often
misinterpret their operations. Demons, unlike
fallen angels who can manifest visibly, are
bodiless spirits that seek physical habitation.
Their preferred hosts include humans,
animals, and even physical spaces. They are
drawn to places void of divine
presence—abandoned homes, secluded
forests, deserts, and confined environments.
This is why spiritual vigilance is essential
when moving into new homes or temporary
living spaces.
As a spiritual precaution, I strongly advise
believers to always pray over and sanctify
any new environment before inhabiting
it—whether it's a new apartment, hotel room,
or office. These spaces may have been
27
previously exposed to unholy activities that
left behind spiritual residues.
I remember a personal experience I had few
years ago after moving into a new flat.
Initially, I attributed my spiritual struggles
and lost of spiritual interest to the bodily
fatigue and stress of relocating, but over time,
I noticed a persistent resistance in prayer, an
overwhelming sense of lustful thoughts, and
a lack of desire for God's Word. Later, the
landlord revealed to me that the previous
occupants were young men engaged in sexual
immorality and cyber fraud. They had used
the flat for ungodly practices, and although
they had moved out, the spiritual atmosphere
of sin remained. Their actions had invited
28
and established a demonic presence in the
flat.
A similar encounter occurred when I visited a
family suffering from deep depression. As
soon as I entered their home, I was
overwhelmed by a sudden heaviness in my
spirit. The atmosphere was thick with sorrow,
and I felt the weight of the same depressive
spirit that tormented the family members. I
had to leave immediately and pray for
cleansing.
Beloved, if you ever find yourself battling
unexplained depression, heaviness, or
emotional distress, don’t ignore it. Begin to
pray earnestly. Sanctify your environment
with worship, Scripture, and spiritual
29
warfare. Pray in the Spirit. If the atmosphere
doesn’t shift, remove yourself from that
environment for a while. While we
acknowledge that physical and psychological
factors such as hormones and stress can also
influence emotions, in the context of spiritual
warfare, it’s important to recognize that
depression and other emotional disturbances
can sometimes be demonic in origin.
Fallen Angels: Agents of Spiritual
Rebellion and Worldly Influence
Fallen angels are spiritual beings with
celestial origins who possess spiritual, not
physical, bodies. Unlike demons, they do not
inhabit or possess humans, animals, or
30
objects. Instead, they operate through the
manipulation of ideologies, cultures, systems,
and institutions. These beings were cast out
of heaven alongside Lucifer (Satan) as a
result of their rebellion against God’s
authority (Revelation 12:7–9).
Fallen angels function as powerful rulers of
darkness. Across different cultures and
civilizations, they have assumed the identities
of false gods and idols—revered under
various names, yet all tracing their origin to
the same rebellion. The gods worshipped by
pagan nations throughout history are, in fact,
fallen angels masquerading as deities. Their
influence is not limited to ancient times; even
in the modern age, they continue to
manipulate thought systems, religions,
31
traditions, and cultural values to oppose the
will and truth of God.
Scripturally, these beings are referred to as
principalities or princes (Ephesians 6:12).
They operate at high levels of spiritual
authority in Satan’s hierarchy. They are
intelligent, powerful, and deeply evil. While
demons carry out Satan’s work at the
personal level—through possession,
affliction, and temptation—fallen angels
function at the societal and territorial levels,
shaping ideologies and influencing nations.
Fallen Angels and Their Biblical Identities
One notable example of a fallen angel in
Scripture is Baalzebub (also known as
32
Beelzebub), who was revered as the god of
Ekron by the Philistines:
“And Ahaziah fell down through a lattice in
his upper chamber that was in Samaria, and
was sick: and he sent messengers, and said
unto them, Go, enquire of Baalzebub the god
of Ekron whether I shall recover of this
disease.”
– 2 Kings 1:2
In the New Testament, Jesus confronted
accusations that He was casting out demons
by the power of Beelzebub, further affirming
this entity’s connection to Satan and the
demonic hierarchy:
“But when the Pharisees heard it, they said,
This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by
33
Beelzebub the prince of the devils... But if I
cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the
kingdom of God is come unto you.”
– Matthew 12:24, 28
These references illustrate that fallen angels
not only exist but are deeply involved in
spiritual warfare against God's kingdom.
They masquerade as gods in various cultures,
deceiving multitudes and establishing
spiritual strongholds that oppose the truth of
the Gospel.
A Heavenly Rebellion
The book of Revelation provides a dramatic
depiction of the fall of these rebellious
angels:
34
“And there was war in heaven: Michael and
his angels fought against the dragon; and the
dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed
not... And the great dragon was cast out, that
old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan... he
was cast out into the earth, and his angels
were cast out with him.”
– Revelation 12:7–9
This cosmic battle marks the beginning of a
spiritual conflict that now plays out in the
earth. Fallen angels, now banished from
heaven, operate under Satan’s command to
oppose the church, corrupt nations, and
prevent the knowledge of Christ from
spreading.
35
Fallen angels are not myths or
metaphors—they are real, active, and
strategically positioned in Satan’s kingdom to
influence the world and oppose God's
redemptive plan. They must be discerned and
confronted through the authority we have in
Christ. As believers, we are called to stand
firm, rooted in biblical truth, and equipped
with the spiritual armor of God to overcome
every force of darkness (Ephesians 6:10–18).
36
Chapter Two
Demonic Possession
Vibrational Gateways: How Demons
Travel Through Light and Sound
It may sound unconventional to some, but I
believe—and have personally
experienced—that demons can travel through
vibrations. Though this may seem far-fetched
to the natural mind, spiritual realities often
transcend human logic. In the realm of the
spirit, demons exploit vibrational frequencies
such as light and sound waves to gain access
into human souls.
37
1. The Gate of Light (Visual Entry)
Light waves are the medium through which
we perceive images. Demons often exploit
this channel by transmitting corrupt and
defiling images into the soul through the
eyes. This is why Scripture warns us
repeatedly to guard our eyes (Matthew
6:22-23).
When a person exposes their eyes to images
of immorality—such as pornography,
suggestive films, or ungodly content—they
unknowingly open a spiritual portal. These
images are not just visuals; they carry
spiritual weight and can invite unclean spirits
into one’s soul, leading to bondage,
addiction, and inner torment. The eyes, being
38
the lamp of the body, can become windows
through which darkness enters.
2. The Gate of Sound (Auditory Entry)
In a similar way, demons also traffic through
sound vibrations—specifically through what
we allow ourselves to hear. Music, words,
and even repeated phrases or chants can serve
as spiritual carriers. Some secular music,
though emotionally stirring or lyrically
poetic, carries demonic influence rooted in
the spirit behind the artist.
Behind every voice, there is a spirit. And in
the spiritual realm, there are only two
sources: the Spirit of God or the spirit of
Satan. This is why certain songs can
suddenly stir feelings of lust, depression,
anger, or rebellion. These are not mere
39
coincidences—they are spiritual infections
passed through sound waves.
A Personal Encounter: My Battle with
Spiritual Infection
There was a season in my life when I was
deeply committed to the presence of God. I
would rise early each morning to enjoy sweet
communion with the Holy Spirit. Prayer was
effortless, and my spiritual sensitivity was
sharp.
However, during that time, I began to
reconnect with the music I once loved before
I gave my life to Christ—secular songs from
what I now refer to as "Babylon." These were
songs I used to enjoy, and I convinced myself
there was no harm in listening to them,
40
especially since the lyrics felt emotional and
expressive.
But gradually, I noticed a decline. My desire
to pray weakened. I would often fall asleep
during prayer or feel numb when I tried to
engage with the Word of God. Worse still,
immoral thoughts began to invade my mind,
and my heart felt distant from God.
It wasn’t until the Lord opened my eyes that I
realized I had invited a demonic presence
through the songs I had been listening to. I
had unknowingly exposed myself to spiritual
infection.
Spiritual Infection: A Hidden Danger
Spiritual infection happens when we, either
through sin or ignorance, give room for
41
demonic forces to enter and influence us. Just
as a virus spreads through physical contact,
demons can infect the soul through spiritual
exposure—especially through what we see
and hear.
The solution? Discernment. As believers, we
must be vigilant about what we allow into
our spirits. What we see, hear, and dwell
upon matters deeply. We must guard the gates
of our soul with diligence, for the enemy
seeks any available entry point.
Gateways of Demonic Entry: How Spirits
Gain Access to Human Lives
Every song you listen to carries a
spirit—either from God or from Satan. Music
is a powerful spiritual medium, and by
42
listening to certain songs, you open your soul
to the spirit behind the singer and their
message. The two primary gateways into the
soul are the eyes and the ears.
While demons often travel through light
(sight) and sound (hearing), there are several
other entry points through which they can
gain access to and inhabit human bodies.
These include:
1. Bodily Contact
Demons can be transmitted through physical
contact, such as handshakes, hugs, or
skin-to-skin touch—especially when such
interactions are with individuals under
demonic influence. This isn’t to incite fear,
but to encourage vigilance. A fervent prayer
43
life acts as a protective covering against
unseen spiritual attacks.
2. Incisions and Body Markings
This refers to the cutting or marking of the
body for ritualistic or fetish purposes, often
seen in some African traditional practices.
Such incisions—done for protection, healing,
or prosperity—serve as covenants with dark
powers and provide access points for
demonic spirits.
3. Initiation Rituals
In many traditional religions, children or
adults are taken to shrines for spiritual
cleansing, initiation, or dedication. These acts
establish covenants that legally authorize
demonic presence in a person’s life.
44
4. Sexual Immorality
Sexual sin is not just physical—it is deeply
spiritual. Engaging in acts like fornication,
adultery, homosexuality, masturbation, incest,
or any sexual relationship with a
demon-possessed individual creates powerful
soul ties and opens doors to demonic
influence.
I recall counseling a young man who was
spiritually tormented after attending a beach
party. He became intimately involved with a
woman he met there, though they didn’t
engage in full intercourse. Despite that, he
described feeling a strange force enter him
during the encounter. From that point
forward, he experienced disturbing
45
manifestations, including involuntary
groaning sounds whenever he tried to pray. It
became clear that he had unknowingly
invited a demonic spirit into his life through
that moment of sexual compromise.
5. Covenants with Darkness
Any form of covenant with Satanic
systems—whether through idolatry, blood
pacts, occult groups, or witchcraft
cults—serves as a legal invitation for
demonic possession. Demons are drawn to
covenants like bees to honey.
6. False and Occultic Religions
Some religious systems are rooted in the
worship of strange spirits. These include
certain strands of Hinduism, Buddhism,
46
Islam, African white garment churches that
consult water spirits, Christian cults, and
occultic movements with demonic
foundations. If the core of any religious
group is not grounded in the true Word of
God and the Lordship of Jesus Christ, it is a
dangerous ground for the believer. Renounce
and flee from such assemblies.
7. Curses and Pronouncements
Demonic curses, especially those uttered by
witch doctors, sorcerers, or demonic priests,
can open individuals to demonic torment.
Many people who suffer from insanity on the
streets are under such curses, bound by the
spirit of madness.
8. Strange Chants and Incantations
47
Chanting mysterious words from occult
literature or repeating phrases heard from
Satanic practitioners can summon demons.
Any chant that does not originate from the
Holy Scriptures or is not led by the Holy
Spirit is suspect and should be completely
avoided.
9. Unscriptural Rituals
Any religious ritual not practiced or
supported by the New Testament Church is a
potential door to demonic activity. The
practices ordained in the New Testament
include prayer, fasting, the study of the Word,
water baptism, and communion (the Lord’s
Table). Any spiritual ritual outside of or
contrary to these, especially those with
48
mystical or magical undertones, is a
counterfeit and opens the soul to demonic
influence.
Characteristics of Demons
Demons are not mythical or symbolic
forces—they are real, active, and strategic
beings that operate with a clear agenda to
deceive, torment, and ultimately destroy.
Below are some of their defining traits and
activities:
1. Bodiless Nature
Demons are disembodied spirits that crave
habitation. Since they lack physical form,
they constantly seek to possess human
bodies, animals, trees, deserted places,
49
confined spaces, and wilderness regions.
Their goal is to dwell and operate through a
vessel.
2. Intelligence
Contrary to the portrayal in many fictional
stories, demons are not mindless creatures.
They are cunning, strategic, and highly
intelligent. They observe, monitor, and
analyze the weaknesses of their targets. They
craft traps, plant thoughts, and influence
decisions—especially in the lives of
unsuspecting or spiritually careless
individuals.
3. Ability to Communicate
Demons have the ability to understand and
speak all human languages. During Jesus'
50
earthly ministry, they recognized and
responded to His commands. Their ability to
speak is often a means to deceive, accuse, or
resist divine authority.
4. Patience in Torment
Demons are remarkably patient. They can
torment an individual gradually over time,
waiting for the perfect moment to fully
manifest their influence. They are not in a
rush—they work subtly, seeking long-term
destruction.
5. Seductive Influence
Demons are seducers. They lure individuals
into doing the very things they once
hated—especially behaviors that lead to
bondage, addiction, and destruction. Many
51
who suffer from addictions are caught in a
web of demonic seduction. These spirits also
seduce people into believing lies, embracing
false ideologies, or entertaining deceptive
thoughts. For deeper insight, see my book
“Freedom from Masturbation Through
Knowledge,” where I explore how demonic
seduction feeds addiction.
6. Desire to Control
Demons seek to dominate the minds of their
victims. Through mental manipulation, they
plant suicidal thoughts, enforce fear, anxiety,
or depression, and drive individuals toward
destructive decisions. Their control is often
reinforced by spells, charms, or
enchantments.
52
7. Cursing Power
Demons speak curses over individuals. These
utterances are spiritual weapons intended to
bring torment, delay, and destruction. Words
spoken under demonic influence can shape
the destinies of the careless.
8. Source of Affliction
Demons are behind many forms of human
suffering. They inflict pain through
sicknesses, failure, setbacks,
disappointments, sorrow, emotional
oppression, lust, perversion, insanity, and
even death. They thrive in afflicting lives.
9. Unclean by Nature
53
In the New Testament, demons are often
referred to as “unclean spirits.” Their
presence brings defilement—manifesting in
immorality, addictions, drunkenness, insanity,
and all forms of spiritual impurity.
10. Inherently Wicked
Demons are inherently evil. They do not
possess the capacity for mercy or
compassion. Their only desire is to torment,
destroy, and mock the image of God in
humanity. They rejoice in human pain,
suffering, and spiritual ruin.
Demons Seek for you Mind
Demons and the Human Soul: The Battle
for the Mind
54
Demons are disembodied spiritual beings,
and one of their strongest desires is to control
the minds and emotions of human beings.
This deep desire to influence and possess
human souls is rooted in their ultimate
aim—to dominate and destroy the image of
God in man.
The Threefold Nature of Man
Man is a triune being—spirit, soul, and
body:
● The Spirit is the innermost part of
man. It houses the conscience and
intuition, and it is the dimension
through which we connect with God.
● The Soul is the seat of the will, mind,
memory, emotions, and desires. It lies
55
at the center of human existence and is
the primary target of demonic attacks.
● The Body is the outer covering—the
physical container of bones, flesh, and
organs.
Demons often seek to possess or influence
the soul, because it governs the mind and
emotions. A person whose soul is under
demonic control loses the ability to govern
their thoughts, desires, and emotional
responses. This loss of control manifests in
harmful behaviors, addictions, and
destructive patterns.
A Real-Life Encounter
I once encountered a young lady who came
to me many years ago, desperately seeking
56
deliverance. She admitted to being tormented
by spiritual entities from a young
age—beings that no one else could see. As
she grew older, she developed an
uncontrollable urge to sleep with men,
whether married or single. She confessed that
she didn’t do it for love or even for gain—it
was simply for pleasure. Yet, every time the
act was over, she was overwhelmed with
shame and self-hatred. Still, she couldn't
stop. Something within her—an unseen
force—was compelling her.
Though she loved God and desired freedom,
she was under demonic captivity. That spirit
had gained access to her soul and controlled
her emotions and mind, dragging her into a
cycle of bondage.
57
The Mind: A Spiritual Battlefield
The mind is the battlefield where spiritual
wars are won or lost. It is the center of
thoughts, imaginations, decisions, and
meditations. When demons gain control of
the mind, they take command of the person’s
life. The result? Confusion, irrational
decisions, broken dreams, and spiritual
paralysis.
The outward life of a person reflects the
condition of their mind. When the mind is
captured, the life is in ruins. This is why
Scripture emphasizes the renewal of the mind
as key to transformation (Romans 12:2).
Demons seek not just to visit, but to possess,
58
influence, and rule the soul. As believers, we
must guard our hearts and minds diligently,
maintain a strong spiritual life, and remain
rooted in the Word of God. Victory begins in
the soul—and it is there that freedom must be
enforced.
10 powerful prayer points
1. Father, in the name of Jesus, I
surrender my soul to You—cleanse
my mind, will, and emotions from
every demonic influence.
2. Lord, break every invisible chain
binding my soul to ungodly desires,
addictive behaviors, and spiritual
59
oppression.
3. By the blood of Jesus, I cast out
every demon that has gained access
to my soul through sin, ignorance, or
generational covenants.
4. Holy Spirit, take full control of my
mind—renew my thoughts, sanctify

60
name!
6. Father, expose and destroy every
demonic force hiding behind
emotional instability, lust,
depression, or self-hatred in my life.
7. Let every door I’ve ignorantly
opened to demonic spirits—through
music, sexual sin, or toxic
environments—be shut by the fire of
the Holy Ghost.
8. I take authority over my thought
life—I reject every demonic
projection, suggestion, or
imagination that exalts itself against
61
the knowledge of God.

sensitivity and passion for Your
presence—revive my prayer life and
hunger for Your Word.
10. By the power of the Holy Spirit, I
declare my soul, mind, and body are
temples of the Lord—no demon shall
dwell in me or rule over me, in Jesus'
name!
62
Chapter Three
Demonic Influence
The Human Soul: The Target of Demonic
Possession
Demons are bodiless spirits whose primary
goal is to possess and control human souls.
While they may also afflict the physical body,
their greatest interest lies in capturing the
soul—the very seat of a person's will,
emotions, desires, mind, and memory. From
the soul, they can manipulate the body and
govern the outward behavior of their victims.
63
When demons gain access to the soul, they
enslave the individual, often leading them
into cycles of addiction and destructive
behaviors. Many believers struggle with
sexual sins—such as masturbation,
fornication, adultery, homosexuality, and
even paedophilia—without realizing that
these are not merely issues of the flesh but
signs of deeper demonic influence.
One of the greatest challenges in the Church
today is ignorance of the operations of
demons. Many Christians wrongly assume
that every struggle is simply “fleshly,” and
attempt to mortify what should be cast out.
But Jesus never told us to crucify
demons—He told us to cast them out. The
flesh is mortified, but demons must be
64
expelled. If a demon is driving someone’s
desire to masturbate or indulge in immoral
acts, it must be cast out in the name of Jesus
Christ.
Demons aim to take control of the soul to
prevent spiritual growth and maturity in
Christ. Their influence can manifest in many
forms—stagnation, depression, rejection,
failure, or even suicidal thoughts. For
example, a person constantly battling
unexplained depression may be under the
influence of a spirit of despair.
I recall a woman who called me,
overwhelmed by depression for nearly a
week with no apparent cause. The moment
she told me it began after arriving at work on
65
a Monday, I discerned it was demonic. I
asked her to place her hand on her head as I
prayed and rebuked the spirit of depression.
Instantly, she felt a heavy presence lift from
her, and her joy was restored.
Similarly, I remember a minister of God who
had been battling depression. While reading a
book on spiritual warfare, he realized he was
under the influence of a demon. He laid his
hand on his chest, commanded the demon to
leave, and immediately felt freedom and
inner joy return.
Paul warned in 2 Corinthians 2:11, “Lest
Satan should get an advantage of us: for we
are not ignorant of his devices.” Ignorance
gives the enemy an open door.
66
It is also important to correct unbiblical and
abusive deliverance practices. Deliverance
should never involve physical violence or
cruelty. Years ago in Nigeria, I witnessed a
troubling scene in a White Garment church.
A woman labeled as demon-possessed was
being whipped by priests as part of a
“deliverance” session. She was kneeling,
weeping in pain while they flogged
her—believing this would drive out the
demon. Such actions are not only unscriptural
but harmful. Demons are not driven out by
physical torment, but by the authority in the
name of Jesus Christ.
True deliverance comes through spiritual
authority, knowledge of God’s Word, and a
67
heart surrendered to Christ—not through
fleshly effort or carnal methods.
Jesus Christ never commanded us to use
physical force—such as whipping—during
deliverance. Exorcism is not a battle of the
flesh but a spiritual engagement. The name of
Jesus Christ of Nazareth is a powerful and
authoritative weapon for casting out demons.
This book has been written as a guide and
safeguard for both personal deliverance and
corporate ministry, equipping believers with
biblical understanding and spiritual tools to
overcome demonic influence effectively.

Chapter Four
Deliverance From Demons
“And Jesus went throughout all Galilee,
teaching in their synagogues, preaching
the gospel of the Kingdom, and healing
every disease and sickness among the
people. News about Him spread
throughout Syria, and people brought to
Him all who were ill with various diseases,
those suffering severe pain, the
demon-possessed, the epileptic, and the
paralyzed—and He healed them. Large
crowds followed Him from Galilee, the
73
Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and the
region across the Jordan.” – Matthew
4:23–25
True and lasting freedom from demonic
influence and oppression is only found in the
power and authority of Jesus Christ.
Deliverance is made possible through prayer
and unwavering faith in Christ. Whether it is
casting out demons or healing bodies
afflicted by them, the key lies in acting upon
one’s faith. When a believer partners their
trust in Christ with prayer, deliverance
becomes inevitable.
However, one of the devil's most subtle
strategies is the promotion of fear and
unbelief. After a person is prayed for and
74
delivered, demons often attempt to sow seeds
of doubt: “Am I truly free?” This inner
questioning is a tactic of manipulation. As I
mentioned earlier in this book, demons are
intelligent—they manipulate, deceive, and
attack the mind to create confusion and
disbelief.
When deliverance comes, it must be followed
by a faith-filled response. You must begin to
walk in the reality of your freedom. See
yourself as a new creation—delivered,
renewed, and free from demonic influence.
Faith is not only essential for physical
healing or miracles; it is also crucial for
affirming and sustaining your spiritual
deliverance.
75
Demons are persistent and will often seek to
return to those from whom they were cast
out. They attempt to regain access through
tempting the believer into willful
disobedience or planting thoughts of
unbelief. Doubting your deliverance is not
just a mental battle; it opens a spiritual door
for re-entry. Many who have been delivered
face spiritual intimidation—particularly
through dreams or disturbing mental imagery
designed to instill fear and make them
question their freedom.
Fear and unbelief are enemies of faith. A
heart overwhelmed by fear cannot walk
confidently in divine freedom, and such a
heart becomes vulnerable to demonic attacks.
76
Before we explore the signs that confirm true
deliverance, it is vital to understand the
hindrances to experiencing and maintaining
freedom from demonic attacks.
Demons are spiritual beings allied with
Satan, seeking to deceive, tempt, and derail
individuals from their God-given destiny.
One of their primary strategies is influencing
the human mind in subtle yet destructive
ways. Let us now examine how demons
affect and manipulate the minds of their
victims.
1. Deception:
Demons are masters of deception.
They twist and distort the truth, leading
people into error and causing them to
77
embrace lies as truth. By manipulating
thoughts and perceptions, demons
confuse their victims, blinding them to
the light of God's Word and hindering
their ability to walk in divine truth.
Deception is one of the enemy’s most
subtle but powerful tools.
2. Temptation:
Demons exploit human weakness,
fleshly desires, and unhealed wounds to
tempt individuals into sinful actions.
Their aim is to draw people away from
the will of God by presenting sin as
pleasurable, justifiable, or harmless.
With relentless whispers and ungodly
suggestions, they entice people into
78
harmful habits and cycles of spiritual
compromise.
3. Oppression:
Demonic oppression weighs heavily
on the soul and mind. It often manifests
through overwhelming fear, anxiety,
depression, confusion, and emotional
heaviness. Victims of oppression may
also suffer from disturbing thoughts,
tormenting dreams, and a constant
sense of spiritual captivity or bondage.
This is not mere emotional
imbalance—it is spiritual warfare.
4. Spiritual Warfare:
Every believer must recognize the
79
ongoing war between the Kingdom of
Light and the kingdom of darkness.
Demons are active participants in this
invisible conflict, targeting the faith,
identity, and spiritual maturity of God's
children. They launch attacks through
doubt, discouragement, temptations,
and spiritual resistance—all designed
to disconnect believers from intimacy
with God.
Despite these realities, believers have hope
and victory through Jesus Christ. The
authority of Christ, the power of prayer, and
the presence of the Holy Spirit are sufficient
to overcome any demonic influence. By
staying grounded in God’s Word, walking in
80
obedience, and surrounding themselves with
a faith-filled community, believers can guard
their minds and walk in continuous victory
over the forces of darkness.
Hindrances to Deliverance
Understanding the hindrances to deliverance
is essential, as it also reveals the pathways to
experiencing true freedom from demonic
influence.
1. Sin:
A life of unrepentant sin is an open
doorway to satanic bondage. To walk in
true deliverance, you must be willing to
confess, repent, and turn away from
81
sin. Deliverance begins with
surrendering your life to Jesus Christ.
Our true security lies in Christ, and
stepping into Him begins with
separation from sin. For a deeper
teaching on this, get my book
“Freedom from Sin”, available on the
same platform.
2. Concealing Sin:
Secret sins can be breeding grounds
for demonic activity. Are there hidden
faults you've kept from your spouse,
family, church, or others? Demons take
advantage of those unwilling to expose
and deal with secret sins. I once
ministered to a couple who struggled
82
with childlessness. God revealed their
hindrance: they had lied to their church
leaders during premarital counseling,
hiding their premarital sexual activity.
That secret opened the door to years of
torment. Until we uncover the root, the
fruit of bondage remains.
3. Pride:
Pride is rebellion in the heart—a
resistance to God’s authority and
instruction. God opposes the proud but
gives grace to the humble. If you desire
freedom, lay aside your titles,
accomplishments, or societal status,
and come to God in humility. Pride has
kept many in prolonged bondage
83
because God only delivers the humble.
4. Prayerlessness:
A weak or non-existent prayer life
limits your access to divine
deliverance. Whether you receive
deliverance through personal prayer or
from an anointed minister of God,
sustaining your freedom requires a
consistent, fervent prayer life. Prayer
builds intimacy with God and
strengthens your spiritual defenses.
5. Negative Confession:
What you say matters. Speaking fear,
doubt, or defeat empowers demonic
forces against you. Demons capitalize
84
on the words you release. Always
declare God’s promises and confess
your freedom, even when you don’t
feel it yet. Speak life, faith, and victory
over yourself daily.
6. Misplaced Trust in Man:
While God uses men and women of
God as vessels of power, our ultimate
trust must remain in God alone. It is
wrong to direct prayers to a pastor or
depend solely on a human vessel.
Honour your spiritual leaders, but
never replace God with them.
Man-worship is idolatry and offends
God.
85
7. Consulting Familiar Spirits:
In desperation, some seek help from
sources outside of Christ, such as witch
doctors, psychics, or false prophets.
This is a serious spiritual error. You
cannot seek freedom from God and
simultaneously consult demonic
sources. Only Jesus Christ offers
complete and lasting deliverance. Any
other source offers counterfeit solutions
that lead to deeper bondage.
Prayer of Deliverance
1. Heavenly Father, I come before You in the
name of Jesus Christ, asking for deliverance
86
from any demonic oppression or influence in
my life.

area of my life, covering myself and my
loved ones with Your protection against the
schemes of the enemy.

areas of my life where demonic forces may
have gained access, and guide me in closing
them.

87
entities, and I declare them null and void in

my life, and I ask for Your forgiveness and
cleansing.

in my family line, and I declare freedom and
release in the name of Jesus.

and go where Jesus sends you, never to
return.
10. Jesus, I declare that You have given me
authority over all the power of the enemy,

them by the power of Your Word and Spirit.

and my fortress, my deliverer in whom I
90
trust, and I take refuge under the shadow of
Your wings.
15. Holy Spirit, lead me into all truth and
righteousness, guiding me away from
darkness and into the light of Your presence
and grace.
16. Father, I thank You for the victory that is
mine through Jesus Christ, and I declare that
no weapon formed against me shall prosper,
for I am more than a conqueror through Him
who loves me.
17. Lord, fill me with Your peace that
surpasses all understanding, guarding my
91
heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and driving
out every spirit of fear and anxiety.
18. Jesus, I surrender every area of my life to
Your lordship and authority, and I ask You to
cleanse and purify me from every form of
evil.
19. Holy Spirit, teach me to walk in
obedience and holiness, so that I may live a
life that is pleasing to You and free from the
influence of the enemy.
20. Father, I thank You for Your faithfulness
and Your unfailing love, and I trust in Your
promise to deliver me from every evil and to
keep me safe in Your arms forever.

Chapter Five
Freedom From Demons
The Complete Freedom Found in Christ
The freedom that Christ offers is total and
absolute. To experience deliverance from
demonic attacks, your faith must be firmly
rooted in Jesus Christ. As you pray in faith,
you access the power of the risen
Christ—who has already defeated Satan and
granted the Church authority to cast out
demons and destroy the works of the enemy.
"Behold, I give unto you power… over all
the power of the enemy..." —Luke 10:19
94
Deliverance through Christ manifests in
several powerful dimensions:
1. Mental Deliverance
This is the liberation of the mind from
demonic influence and spiritual darkness. It
begins with receiving the truth through the
Word of God and continues through
meditation on that Word. The mind is the
primary target of demonic assault—this is
why deliverance often starts here. A renewed
mind creates an environment where demons
cannot dwell.
Mental deliverance is achieved through:
● A genuine born-again experience
● Daily study and meditation on God’s
Word
95
● A consistent and fervent prayer life
Prayer is not only a weapon; it’s also a means
of spiritual renewal. As your mind is
saturated with God's truth, demonic lies lose
their grip, and transformation begins.
“This I say therefore… that ye henceforth
walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity
of their mind…”
—Ephesians 4:17-18
“Be not conformed to this world: but be ye
transformed by the renewing of your mind…”
—Romans 12:2
A liberated mind leads to a liberated life. As
your thoughts align with God’s truth,
boldness replaces fear, and you gain authority
96
to stand against and cast out demonic forces
from your life, family, and sphere of
influence. When your mind is renewed, your
dreams will reflect peace, and negative
thoughts will no longer dominate you. True
freedom begins in the mind.
2. Emotional Deliverance
Christ’s deliverance brings healing and
restoration to the heart. It fills the soul with
peace, love, and joy, which are signs of true
spiritual liberty. This peace isn't just a
feeling—it is a spiritual reality born from
mental renewal. Emotional healing follows
mental deliverance, because your emotions
are directly influenced by the condition of
your mind.
97
Where there was once fear, anxiety, or
emotional torment, you will now experience
the joy and righteousness of God. The
presence of peace and joy in your heart is a
sign that demonic strongholds have been
broken.
3. Physical Healing
Many bodily afflictions are demonic in
nature. When deliverance occurs, healing
often follows. Christ’s power doesn’t only
restore the soul; it renews the body. Physical
ailments, sicknesses, or injuries caused by
demonic oppression are healed as Christ’s
authority is released.
Jesus healed all who were oppressed by the
devil (Acts 10:38), and His healing power
98
remains active today. Through faith and
prayer, your body can be restored.
4. Restoration
Deliverance through Christ also brings
restoration. Whatever was lost—time, health,
peace, relationships, finances, or
opportunities—can be recovered by God’s
grace. Demonic attacks often lead to years of
waste and destruction, but God is a restorer
of lost years and broken paths.
“And I will restore to you the years that the
locust hath eaten…” —Joel 2:25
When Christ sets you free, He not only
breaks the chains, but also restores what the
enemy tried to steal.
99
True deliverance is not a one-time event—it
is a journey of transformation that touches
every area of your life: your mind, heart,
body, and destiny. As you yield to the
authority of Christ and walk in His truth
daily, you will experience and maintain
complete freedom.

am more than a conqueror through You who
loves me.
105
Part II:
Overcoming Idolatry and False
Deities
106
Chapter Six
Deities
Breaking Free from Deity-Imposed
Strongholds
“Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor
serve them, nor do after their works: but thou
shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break
down their images.” —Exodus 23:24
This chapter focuses on how to break free
from strongholds established by territorial
deities and spiritual forces.
Let’s begin by addressing a common but
often controversial question: Can a
107
born-again Christian be possessed by
demons? The answer is yes. While this may
challenge certain theological perspectives,
real-life ministry experiences prove that even
believers can come under demonic influence
if they are not vigilant, prayerful, and rooted
in truth.
Over the years in ministry, I have
encountered born-again Christians—even
Spirit-filled, tongue-speaking believers—who
were under the grip of demonic possession. I
have witnessed and ministered deliverance to
such individuals. The existence and operation
of demons must not be downplayed. They are
real, and their influence is visible in the lives
of many, including those within the church.
108
Jesus Himself warned us through the
example of His disciples. Peter, though
chosen and beloved, was targeted by Satan.
Jesus said, “Satan hath desired to sift you as
wheat,” but added, “I have prayed for you.”
(Luke 22:31–32). In Judas Iscariot’s case, the
Bible is clear: “Then entered Satan into
Judas…” (Luke 22:3). Judas was one of the
twelve who had been promised a place in the
coming kingdom, yet he became a vessel for
the enemy.
This teaches us a sobering truth: demons can
possess or manipulate a believer’s soul and
body if the believer becomes careless or
disobedient. While the regenerated spirit of a
Christian belongs to God and houses the
Holy Spirit, the soul (mind, will, and
109
emotions) and body can still be vulnerable if
left unguarded.
Understanding Deities and Their Operations
Deities are fallen angelic beings worshipped
as gods. In Part One of this book, we
established the distinction between demons
and fallen angels. While demons actively
seek to inhabit human bodies, deities (fallen
angels) operate on a higher level—they
dominate regions and exert spiritual control
over families, tribes, nations, and systems.
Deities do not typically possess human
bodies. Instead, they function as territorial
rulers, operating from the second heaven (the
heavenly realm between Earth and God's
throne) and directing demonic activity on
110
Earth. They collaborate with demons—who
serve as their agents—to enforce spiritual
bondage over individuals and territories.
Ancient civilizations such as Egypt illustrate
this reality. The Egyptians worshipped
numerous deities, each with a specific
domain or influence. These territorial spirits
continue to operate today, though often
disguised in more modern or cultural forms.
Their goal remains the same: to dominate
families, institutions, communities, and
nations.
“The children gather wood, and the fathers
kindle the fire, and the women knead their
dough, to make cakes to the queen of
heaven…” —Jeremiah 7:18
111
This verse shows the depth of generational
allegiance to deities—entire families can
unknowingly be engaged in rituals that
empower spiritual oppression.
Engaging in Spiritual Warfare
Believers must understand that spiritual
warfare is a reality of the Christian life. Satan
is described as the god of this world (2
Corinthians 4:4), and we, the Church, are
planted as light in the midst of this darkness.
For the gospel to truly penetrate and
transform a territory, the spiritual rulers over
that region must first be confronted and
overthrown.
This is why prayer is non-negotiable.
Passionate, strategic, and consistent
112
intercession is required to break the grip of
deities over a territory. Alongside prayer, the
pure, undiluted gospel must be preached
boldly. It is through the light of truth that
darkness is expelled.
Holiness and righteous living are also vital.
Demonic forces are attracted to sin,
compromise, and spiritual apathy. Living in
obedience to God closes the doors through
which demonic forces seek to gain entrance.
To see territorial transformation, believers
must:
● Pray persistently against spiritual
strongholds
● Live righteously and remain vigilant
113
● Teach and preach the true gospel of
Christ
● Walk in discernment, recognizing the
operations of deities and demons in
both the physical and spiritual realms
Deliverance from deity-imposed strongholds
is not just personal—it is territorial. As
believers take their place in spiritual warfare,
they bring down the idols and thrones of
darkness, making way for Christ's Kingdom
to reign in their homes, churches, cities, and
nations.

Chapter Seven
Deities and Idolatry
Certainly! Here's a more refined and
impactful version of your text, keeping the
spiritual authority and prophetic tone intact
while improving clarity, structure, and flow:
“And he caused his children to pass
through the fire in the valley of the son of
Hinnom: also he observed times, and used
enchantments, and used witchcraft, and
dealt with a familiar spirit, and with
wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight
120
of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.”
— 2 Chronicles 33:6
Breaking Free from Ancestral Deity Strongholds
Idolatry is the act of worshiping false gods
or any created thing in place of the true and
living God. Deities are fallen spiritual
beings—once angelic, now corrupt—who
crave worship and control. Throughout
history, including in Africa and other ancient
cultures, these entities revealed themselves to
our forefathers, offering help during times of
crisis—such as famine, disease, or war. In
return, they demanded worship, loyalty, and
sacrificial offerings.
121
Our ancestors, in seeking solutions, entered
into covenants with these deities. These
covenants, though formed long ago, continue
to affect families and descendants today. The
images, masks, and shrines we see in many
cultures are physical representations of these
spiritual beings—demonic appearances
captured by those who encountered them.
Many masquerades, especially in Africa, are
actually inspired by demonic entities that
manifested to our ancestors.
1. Covenants with Deities
Covenants are binding spiritual agreements.
Many of our ancestors made covenants with
deities, hoping to receive blessings such as
fertility, harvest, or protection. In exchange,
122
the deity would require specific
terms—regular offerings, rituals, or
behavioral obligations.
For example, the infamous practice of killing
twins in Calabar, Nigeria, stemmed from
such a covenant with a deity. Other
communities still celebrate festivals or
maintain rituals originally established to
honor these demonic beings.
Covenants, whether with God or with
demonic spirits, carry great spiritual
significance. When such covenants are
broken—whether knowingly or
unknowingly—consequences often follow:
barrenness, poverty, strange deaths, recurring
123
sicknesses, or generational patterns of
misfortune.
There are covenants that specifically involve:
● The firstborn of the family
● Children born with dreadlocks
● First harvests or first incomes
● Male or female firsts in each generation
As believers, we must investigate our family
histories. Some Christians continue to face
demonic resistance because they
unknowingly carry the burden of ancestral
covenants made generations ago. These must
be broken through intentional spiritual
warfare and by renouncing such agreements
in the name of Jesus.
124
2. Altars to Deities
An altar is a spiritual gateway—a point of
contact between the physical and the spiritual
realm. Once a covenant is formed, an altar is
usually erected to seal it. Shrines are built to
house these altars, which serve as places of
sacrifice and communication between
humans and spirits.
Many family altars in Africa still function,
even when physically abandoned. Some are
hidden in:
● Family homes
● Forests and groves
● Marketplaces and junctions
● Riverbanks and sacred trees
125
Even after giving your life to Christ, these
altars can continue to speak against your
progress unless they are spiritually and,
where necessary, physically
dismantled—with wisdom and pastoral
counsel.
A man of God once approached me,
struggling with immorality despite being a
pastor. In prayer, the Lord revealed that his
father had suffered the same weakness. His
entire family was under a generational
pattern: broken marriages, sexual bondage,
and dissatisfaction. Though he was in
ministry, the altar of immorality erected by
his forefathers was still active. The covenant
had not been broken, and the altar had not
been destroyed.
126
Just as Gideon in Judges 6:28 tore down the
altar of Baal, we too must take deliberate
steps to destroy evil altars. Family
deliverance is incomplete without altar
destruction.
3. Sacrifices That Empower Altars
The power of any altar lies in its sacrifices. A
dead altar can be revived if someone begins
to offer sacrifices again. Regular
sacrifices—be they animals, food, money, or
symbolic offerings—empower the altar and
enforce the covenant it represents.
If someone in your family is still tending to
the ancestral altar—pouring libations, giving
offerings, or making chants—then that altar
remains active and binding. Many Christians
127
face unexplained resistance in life because
their family altars are still “alive.”
Sacrifice is spiritual currency. Without it, an
altar loses power. But with it, the demonic
presence is continually strengthened.
If we are to walk in complete deliverance, we
must address these three strongholds:
covenants, altars, and sacrifices. These are
the ancient structures that empower deities
and demons over families and regions.
Through the blood of Jesus, these structures
can be shattered. But it requires knowledge,
prayer, and decisive action.
Let every covenant be broken. Let every altar
be destroyed. Let every demonic sacrifice be
silenced—in the name of Jesus!
128
Prayer Points for Breaking Ancestral Deity
Strongholds
1. Father, in the name of Jesus, I
renounce every known or unknown
covenant my ancestors entered into
with any deity or fallen spirit. Let the
blood of Jesus cancel those covenants
now!
2. O Lord, by the authority in Your
name, I break every evil covenant
affecting my life, destiny, family, and
children. I declare I am free by the
blood of Jesus!
3. Every ancestral altar speaking
against my life and progress—be
129
destroyed by fire in the name of
Jesus!
4. Any shrine or hidden altar in my
family house still active through
sacrifices—catch fire and burn to
ashes now, in Jesus' name!
5. Blood of Jesus, speak better things
into my foundation. Let every
demonic legal ground established
through sacrifices be nullified now!
6. O Lord, expose and silence every
secret agent in my family still
servicing demonic altars knowingly
or unknowingly—frustrate their
130
efforts in the name of Jesus!
7. Every ancestral curse that came
through broken covenants—lose
your hold over my life and lineage
now, in the name of Jesus!
8. I declare that I am a new creation in
Christ Jesus. Therefore, I disconnect
myself from every bloodline
covenant that does not align with the
covenant of Christ.
9. I tear down every spiritual
structure—altars, groves, and high
places—erected in my bloodline to
honor deities. Let them be consumed
131
by Holy Ghost fire!
10. Every demonic pattern running in
my family—immorality, poverty,
marital failure, sickness, untimely
death—be broken by the anointing,
in Jesus’ name!
11. Holy Spirit, empower me to walk
in righteousness and holiness, so that
no ancient covenant or altar will
have a foothold in my life again!
12. Lord Jesus, raise a new altar of
worship, truth, and holiness in my
life and family. Let Your name alone
132
be exalted forever in my lineage.
133
Chapter Eight
Freedom from Deities
Deities curse and afflict families and their
descendants who fail to uphold ancestral
covenants made with them. This is the root
cause of many generational curses, recurring
afflictions, and negative family patterns.
To be completely free from the power and
influence of deities, four essential spiritual
steps must be taken:
1. A Genuine Born-Again Experience
134
Deliverance begins with salvation. To
exercise authority over demonic powers and
deities, you must be truly born again. Being
born again aligns you with the covenant of
Christ and grants you divine backing to
overcome the strongholds of darkness. Sin
empowers Satan to afflict individuals and
families, but salvation disarms him. Until you
are born again, freedom from generational
curses, ancestral covenants, and evil patterns
remains out of reach.
2. Renouncing Every Work of Darkness
Deliverance involves consciously renouncing
any connection to deities and their covenants.
This must be done through a heartfelt
confession, declaring with your mouth that
135
you reject every form of darkness. Through
prayer, boldly proclaim your disconnection
from any ancestral covenant and reaffirm
your commitment to the eternal covenant
established through the blood of Jesus Christ
on Calvary.
3. Breaking Evil Altars
Evil altars serve as the physical and spiritual
points of contact between deities and
families. After salvation, these altars must be
destroyed. If they exist in your home or
environment, take deliberate steps to tear
them down—physically where possible, and
spiritually through prayer and fasting. If the
altars are in your hometown, intercede
136
fervently and renounce any tie between you
and such structures.
4. Spiritual Growth Through Intimacy with
Christ
Maintain your freedom by growing in the
knowledge of Christ. Develop a strong and
consistent prayer life. Study and meditate on
the Word of God daily. As you build a
personal altar of fellowship with God through
prayer, fasting, and the Word, you continually
strengthen your spirit and silence the voice of
demons and deities in your life. Spiritual
growth is key to sustaining deliverance and
living in perpetual victory.

140
Part III:
Exercising Spiritual Authority
141
Chapter Nine
The Believer's Authority
As born-again believers, Christ has
granted us authority over demons. This
authority is rooted in His finished work on
the cross and His triumphant victory over
all the forces of darkness.
Throughout the New Testament, Jesus
consistently demonstrated power over
demonic spirits. He cast out demons with a
word, setting the oppressed free and
establishing a clear model for His followers.
142
This same authority has been passed on to
every believer through faith in Him.
Key Aspects of the Believer’s Authority Over
Demons:
1. Authority Through Union with Christ
Our authority over demons and deities is not
based on personal strength, but on our union
with Jesus Christ. As co-heirs with Christ,
believers share in His victory. Colossians
2:15 declares that Jesus disarmed
principalities and powers, triumphing over
them openly. We operate from this place of
victory.
2. Authority in the Name of Jesus
143
The name of Jesus carries unmatched power.
As a believer, you have the right to use His
name to command demons to flee. When
spoken in faith, the name of Jesus releases
divine power and forces darkness to bow.
Rather than yielding to fear or sorrow, rise up
and use the name of Jesus against every
satanic attack.
3. Authority by the Holy Spirit
The indwelling of the Holy Spirit empowers
believers to confront and overcome demonic
oppression. It is through the Spirit that we
access the supernatural grace and boldness to
exercise dominion over evil spirits. The Holy
Spirit is both our comforter and our weapon
in battle.
144
4. Authority in Prayer
Prayer is not just communication with God; it
is a divine weapon in spiritual warfare.
Fervent, faith-filled prayer releases God’s
intervention and enforces your authority over
demonic forces. When you pray, you partner
with heaven to dismantle the works of
darkness in your life and territory.
5. Authority Through the Word of God
The Word of God is your spiritual sword.
Declaring and standing on God’s Word
causes demons to retreat. Scripture equips
you with truth and reveals your rights as a
believer. Like Jesus in the wilderness, you
must speak the Word to silence every satanic
voice.
145
6. Authority in Spiritual Warfare
We live in a world engulfed in spiritual
conflict. You must be conscious that your
walk is a daily battle against unseen forces.
Ephesians 6:10–18 instructs believers to put
on the full armor of God and resist the
schemes of the devil. Use your authority to
cast out demons, destroy strongholds, and set
captives free.
7. Authority Through Faith and Obedience
Spiritual authority is most effective when
exercised in alignment with God's will.
Obedience to God and a life of holiness
reinforce your spiritual authority. Faith
activates power, but obedience sustains it.
146
Authority flows through submission to God's
Word and purpose.
With this understanding of the believer’s
authority, we can now begin to examine
the workings of witchcraft and how to
stand against it.

Chapter Ten
Dominion over Witchcraft
“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on
serpents and scorpions, and over all the
power of the enemy: and nothing shall by
any means hurt you.” – Luke 10:19
There was a day I sat reflecting on the
identity of believers in Christ. Through deep
meditation, the Holy Spirit revealed a
troubling truth: many Christians are more
conscious of their roles and titles within the
local church than their position in Christ. We
are more devoted to our relationship with the
149
church or a man of God than with God
Himself. While these affiliations are not
inherently wrong, they can become spiritual
stumbling blocks when they replace our
personal relationship and identity in Christ.
Identity in Christ and Dominion
Our identity in Christ is not only marked by
material blessings such as health and
wealth—it is defined by dominion. Until we
come into this understanding, the enemy will
continue to trade dominion for distractions,
offering the glories of this world but
withholding authority.
Dominion is the right and power to govern, to
execute authority, and to legislate spiritually.
Power enforces, but authority legalizes the
150
use of power. This means power must be
rooted in divine authority to be effective.
Jesus was questioned by religious leaders
about the authority behind His actions
(Mark 11:28–30). Yet He consistently
demonstrated divine dominion—casting out
demons, healing the sick, setting captives
free, and teaching with conviction and power
(Matthew 7:29). His authority was from the
Father, and He operated fully under it.
When Jesus taught, His words pierced hearts
and compelled obedience. That’s what true
spiritual authority does—it builds, convicts,
commands, and transforms. Jesus displayed
God’s dominion over all forces of darkness.
151
As believers, we have received this same
power through the authority of Christ. We
have the divine mandate to:
● Rebuke demonic spirits
● Break the chains of witchcraft
● Set the oppressed free
Once you are born again, you are positioned
as a son or daughter of God. You are no
longer a spiritual orphan—you now share in
the inheritance and authority of Christ. This
sonship empowers you to operate in
dominion. Every born-again believer has a
responsibility to cast out demons and contend
with powers of darkness.
Understanding Witchcraft Activities
152
Witchcraft is more than a cultural belief—it
is a spiritual reality. The spirit of witchcraft
is a demonic entity that seeks to gain access
through vulnerable souls, animals, or even
inanimate objects to carry out acts of
wickedness. Human agents (witches and
wizards) are simply vessels who have
become possessed or influenced by this spirit.
To confront witchcraft is to challenge the
spirit behind it—not merely the person being
used. That’s why you should not fear
witches or wizards. Cast out the demon, and
the human vessel becomes powerless—like a
phone without a battery. Deliverance comes
by evicting the spirit, not fighting the vessel.
Blind Witchcraft
153
There are those possessed by the spirit of
witchcraft without knowing it. These are
referred to as blind witches or
wizards—individuals through whom the
spirit operates unconsciously.
Signs of Blind Witchcraft:
● Your evil thoughts or imaginations
often come to pass.
● People repeatedly complain of seeing
you in their dreams working evil.
● Your presence frequently brings
misfortune, backwardness, or
disruption in relationships, jobs, or
ministries.
154
● You're the object of suspicion or
accusation, even though you feel
innocent.
Blind witchcraft can occur through:
● Curses or spells placed by others
● Involvement in occult rituals or idol
festivals
● Spiritual initiations
● Envious exchanges of glory or destiny
When these signs are evident, seek spiritual
counsel and deliverance. Blindness to one’s
spiritual state can allow the enemy to keep
operating undetected.
Forms of Witchcraft Attacks Against Believers
Witchcraft manifests in diverse ways:
155
● Limitation: Hindering progress and
breakthroughs
● Oppression: Mental, emotional, and
spiritual torment
● Intimidation: Fear and manipulation
● Possession: Full demonic control over
a vessel
But praise God—Jesus has given us power
and authority over all these
manifestations.
How to Exercise Dominion Over Witchcraft
You must:
● Use the Name of Jesus: The name of
Jesus is a spiritual weapon. It carries
156
unmatched authority to confront and
cast out demons.
● Know Your Identity: Many believers
live in defeat because they are unaware
of who they are in Christ. Satan thrives
on your ignorance.
● Stay in the Word: Knowledge of
God’s Word arms you with the truth
that sets you free and disarms the
enemy.
● Maintain Holiness: Sin weakens your
spiritual authority. Secret or open sin
creates legal ground for demonic
interference.
● Guard Against Fear: Fear invites
torment and blocks faith. Where fear
157
reigns, authority fails. But where faith
lives, victory is assured.
Three Factors That Empower Demons Against
Believers:
1. Ignorance – Not knowing your
spiritual identity or the enemy’s tactics.
2. Sin – Disobedience opens doors to
demonic control and oppression.
3. Fear – Paralyzes faith and allows the
enemy to gain influence.
Guard your heart daily. Seek wisdom from
the Word. Stay in alignment with God.

witchcraft, that they may come to know the
saving power of Jesus Christ.
17. Lord, I ask for Your strength and courage
to confront and overcome every form of
witchcraft that seeks to hinder or harm me.
163
18. Jesus, I surrender my fears and anxieties
to You, knowing that You are with me and
that no weapon formed against me shall
prosper.
19. Holy Spirit, fill me with Your peace and
joy, even in the midst of spiritual warfare,
knowing that greater is He who is in me than
he who is in the world.
20. Father, I praise You for Your faithfulness
and Your unfailing love, and I trust in Your
promise to deliver me from every evil and to
keep me safe in Your arms forever.
