Jeremiah 29:10 For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit
you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and
not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Jeremiah 29:12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto
you.
Jeremiah 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:14 And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will
gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I
will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.
PATIENCE
1. The act or quality of waiting long for justice or expected good without discontent.
2. Perseverance constancy in labor or exertion.
Patience is having the ability to withstand/circumstances for long with high level of contention and
expection/ hope that everything will change.
James 5 (KJV)
⁷ Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the
precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
⁸ Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
— James 5:11 (KJV)
“Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the
end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.”
Patience brings about;
1. Hope
This is an expectation of thinking to come which comes by faith.
Hebrews 6 (KJV)
¹¹ And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the
end:
¹² That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
¹⁵ But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word,
keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
2. Confidence
Hebrews 10 (KJV)
³⁵ Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
³⁶ For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
3. Faith
Hebrews 11 (KJV)
¹ Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
² For by it the elders obtained a good report.
³ Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which
are seen were not made of things which do appear.
⁴ By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that
he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
⁵ By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had
translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
⁶ But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and
that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
⁷ By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the
saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which
is by faith.
⁸ By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an
inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
⁹ By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac
and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
¹⁰ For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
¹¹ Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when
she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
¹² Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in
multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.
¹³ These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were
persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the
earth.
1 Thessalonians 1 (KJV)
³ Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord
Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;
⁴ Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.
⁵ For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much
assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
4. Perseverance
2 Corinthians 6 (KJV)
¹ We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
² (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee:
behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
³ Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:
⁴ But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in
necessities, in distresses,
⁵ In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings;
⁶ By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned,
⁷ By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on
the left,
⁸ By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true;
⁹ As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;
¹⁰ As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing
all things.
5. Promise of God
Hebrews 6 (KJV)
¹¹ And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the
end:
¹² That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Hebrews 10:36 (KJV)
“For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.”
6. Perfection
James 1 (KJV)
¹ James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad,
greeting.
² My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
³ Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
⁴ But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
7. Victory
— James 5:11 (KJV)
“Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the
end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.”
Revelation 3 (KJV)
¹⁰ Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation,
which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
¹¹ Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
¹² Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I
will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem,
which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
Psalms 19:10
More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the
honeycomb.
1 Corinthians 10:12
Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
