Short Note On Proximity Sensor

A proximity sensor is an electronic device that detects the presence or absence of an object without physical contact, triggering an output signal when an object is within range. There are several types, including infrared, ultrasonic, capacitive, and inductive sensors, each suited for different applications. Key features include non-contact detection, high reliability, and fast response time, with applications in industrial automation, mobile phones, parking sensors, and touchless switches.

Short Note on Proximity Sensor

A proximity sensor is an electronic device that detects the presence or absence of an object
without physical contact. It senses the object when it comes within a specific range and
triggers an output signal.

🔧 Types of Proximity Sensors:

1. Infrared (IR) Sensor – Uses infrared light to detect nearby objects.

2. Ultrasonic Sensor – Uses sound waves to measure distance.
3. Capacitive Sensor – Detects changes in capacitance caused by nearby objects (used
for detecting non-metallic objects).
4. Inductive Sensor – Detects metallic objects using electromagnetic fields.

⚙️Key Features:

 Non-contact detection
 High reliability and long life
 Fast response time
 Widely used in automation and robotics

📦 Applications:

 Object detection in industrial automation

 Mobile phones (screen auto-off during calls)
 Parking sensors in vehicles
 Touchless switches
