(1) All modules shall be powered with one power supply.
(2) Do not expose the control panel to the moist pace or direct sunlight.
(3) When the air conditioning system is installed where vulnerable to the electromagnetic interference, the
communication line of the control panel shall be the shielded twisted pair.
(4) Be sure the communication line is placed to the correct port, otherwise it would cause communication
fault.
(5) Do not strike or frequently disassemble/reassemble the control panel.
(6) Do not operate the control panel with wet hands.
The pictures covered in this manual may not be completely the same with those of the real images.
This product is subject to any necessary modification by the manufacturer duo to sales or fabrication
change anytime without advanced notice.

1 General
The modular air-cooled screw chiller generally consists of 1~4 single modules (based on the actual load
demand) as well as control and accessories herein.
Control and accessories includes one control panel and two pieces of communication lines for each
module.
The control panel is intended to control the module and display the module data, and also provide a
Modbus RS485 interface which is capable of integrating the module with the building management system
or remote monitoring system. See the operation manual of the control panel of the modular air-cooled
screw chillers for more details.
Two communication lines are used to connect the remote monitoring system.

2 Connection between Modules


2.1 DIP Switch Address Setting
Each module shall have a unique address which is defined as per the setting of its DIP switch shown in
the figure below.

2.2 Connection Instructions


Follow the steps stated below for the internal connection as shown in the figure below.
Step 1: Connect the communication line of module 1 from its main board CN25 to its control panel CN1.
Step 2: Connect the communicaton line of module 1 from its main board CN33 to CN25 on module 2.
Step 3: Connect the communicaton line of module 2 from its main board CN33 to CN25 on module 3.
Step 4: Connect the next module in the same way.

3 Connection of the Remote Monitoring System


3.1 Modbus Address Setting
Each single unit is an object for communication in the remote monitoring system and is distinguished
from each other by a specific modbus address which can be set through the control panel ranging from
1~255 as stated below.

Step 1: After the control panel is power on, press the “Menu” button to access to the menu page, and
then on the menu page select “User Setting” by pressing the ▲/▼ button and then press the “OK” button.
Later, a prompt dialog box will pop up, telling “Please input the password”. Once the password is identified,
it will access to the page as shown below.

Step 2: Select the option of “Modbus Address” by pressing the ▲/▼ button and then press the “OK”
button to access to the setting page where it is allowed to set the Modbus address by pressing the ▲/▼
button. After that, press the “OK”button to finish this setting. The setting page is as shown in the figure
below.

3.2 Baud Rate Setting


Three baud rates, 4800, 9600 and 19200 are supported for the remote monitoring system. The default
is 9600. During installation, it is allowed to set the baud rate through the control panel. Unless otherwise
specified, all control panels shall be set to the same baud rate following the steps stated below.
Step 1: After the control panel is power on, press the “Menu” button to access to the menu page, and
then on the menu page select “Factory Setting” by pressing the ▲/▼ button and then press the “OK”button.
Later, a prompt dialog box will pop up, telling “Please input the password”.

Step 2: Modify the password number by pressing the he ▲/▼ button and move the cursor by pressing
the “OK” button. Once the password numbers are all input and identified, it will access to the first page of
“Factory Setting” as shown in the figure below.

Step 3: Select the option of “Baud Rate”by pressing the ▲/▼ button as shown in the figure below.

Step 4: Press the “OK” button to access to the setting page and set it as expected by pressing the ▲/▼
button. After that, press the “OK” button to finish this setting. The setting page is as shown in the figure
below.

Material: Class 5 twisted pairs, AWG24, 8m, each piece for each control panel.
L1(Standard) Line end: Four-cord socket
Usage: It is used to connect the wired controller and the patch board for BAS control.
