D. Power Pack: Self-contained, pre-wired rectifying unit to convert low volts, single phase, 50
Hz AC power to approximately 12,000 volts DC for ionizer and 6,000 volts DC for collector,
including overload protection, on-off switch, pilot light indicating operating status.

E. Safety Accessories: Manual reset safety switches and warning lights for filter plenum access

galvanized steel; access doors with continuous gaskets and positive locking devices on both

PART 3 EXECUTION

3.1 GENERAL

A. Construct filter banks and install filters to prevent passage of unfiltered air
1. Provide felt, rubber, foam or neoprene gaskets as necessary.

B. Do not operate fan system connected to filter banks until all filters (temporary prefilters
and specified filters, except Type G) are in place.

C. Remove temporary prefilters at substantial completion, and after air balancing.

D. Install new filters after system testing and balancing.

3.2 INSTALLATION

A. Install filters with felt, rubber, or neoprene gaskets to prevent passage of unfiltered air around
filters.

B. Install filter gage static pressure tips upstream and downstream of filters. Mount filter gages
on outside of filter housing or filter plenum, in accessible position. Adjust and level.

C. Do not operate fan system until [temporary] [permanent] filters are in place. Replace
temporary filters used during construction and testing, with clean set.

D. Install filter gages on filter banks with separate static pressure tips upstream and downstream
of filters.

3.3 TEMPORARY PRE FILTERS FOR CONSTRUCTION

A. Protect all filters upstream of air handling units during construction with blankets of
50 mm fiberglass filter media or 50 mm disposable panel filters. UL Class 1 listed.

B. Provide spare set of temporary prefilters.

C. If final pressure drop of the temporary prefilters is reached during construction or test
and balance, replace with new filters.

D. Spare set is to be delivered to Owner at time of acceptance.

3.4 SCHEDULES
