Presentation Title Soil Test Report by W

This document is a soil test report for the construction of a single storied academic building with a four storied foundation at Gahon High School in Naogaon. It details the execution of standard penetration tests, laboratory tests, and the sub-soil profile, providing insights into soil properties and recommendations for foundation design. The report concludes with recommendations for excavation and compaction to ensure adequate bearing capacity for the proposed structure.

EXECUTION OF STANDARD PENETRATION TESTS (S.P.T)

The Standard penetration test are used measure the in-situ properties of the sub-soil. These tests are
best for cohesion less as a co-relation has been established between the SPT values and the angle of
internal friction of the soil.

The tests consist of driving a SPLIT SPOON SAMPLER having 50.80- ″ oute dia ete a d

The Standard penetration tests were performed at 1.50m interval in all bore-holes up to the
final depth. The depth-wise SPT values have been presented in the form of curves in the
respective BORE-LOGS.

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation on sub soil investigation for construction of the proposed
“Single Storied Academic Building (With four Storied Foundation)
including Sanitary, Water Supply & Electrification Works,at Dhekra
High School at Badalgachi, in the District of Naogaon.”

From the foregoing discussion on filed and laboratory test results, considering top
layer of soil, the nature of the structure to be constructed we may suggest as follows:
By excavating 5.00ft (1500 mm) of soil from existing ground surface. The base
should be compacted and the moisture content of the bed should lie on the wet
sideof the optimum moisture content & percent of compaction must be 95% over
which Isolated Column Footing placed. Allowable bearing capacity at this layer is
12.36 T/m2 (1.15 T.S.F).

The structural designer will decide on the foundation alternatives depending on

the superstructure load.
