SPIRIT OF SONG IN SOKA GAKKAI

Singing Songs is a Soka Gakkai Tradition: Song has always played an

important role in the Soka Gakkai’s development and growth. Songs
inspire us and energise us…..In Japan, our advance has always begun with
the singing of Gakkai Songs…………..Let’s all sing together, for the sake
of kosen rufu, and to elevate our lives- that’s the purpose of Gakkai songs.

Singing Song is a Pledge to the Mentor: It is to determine to Sensei that

we will all accomplish kosen-rufu, no matter what, with joy and
conviction in our hearts.

Let us ask ourselves, how many times, do I sing songs in a meeting

with a realization that through this song, I am making a pledge to
Sensei?

Singing Songs unite us together: Song can unite, they can bring people
together. Similarly, Gakkai songs-songs for kosen-rufu- unite our
members in the cause of widely spreading the ideals and principles of
Nichiren Daishonin’s Buddhism. Song provides the rhythm for victory.
Songs solidify the unity of mentor and disciple.

A song can move people; it can inspire them with courage and fighting
spirit. For that to happen, however, the singer must have a deep feeling for
the meaning of the lyrics and infuse his whole being into the song.

Towards our Discussion Victory Meeting Campaign, let us deeply

imbibe the importance of songs and their ability to unite people’s
hearts is that unity between mentor and disciple and unity between
fellow members together comprises the unchanging formula for
absolute victory.
