Assignment Summary
For this assignment, you will respond to short-answer questions and prompts related to bullying and
prevention. You will be asked to discuss how you personally react to bullying and respond to scenarios
that model real-life bullying.
Background Information
Bullying is aggressive behavior that includes an imbalance of power and repetition. Bullying may include
verbal, social, or physical bullying or cyberbullying. Bullying can lead to depression, negative self-image,
loneliness and anxiety, suicidal thoughts, and other consequences. Some ways to prevent bullying are to
practice tolerance and encourage your friends to do the same, tell an adult if you see someone being
bullied, and ask for help if you need it. Having a positive self-image and developing positive relationships
are good ways to protect yourself from bullying.

For this assignment, you will:
1. respond to short-answer questions and prompts.
Step 1: Prepare for the assignment.
a) Read through the guide before you begin so you know the expectations for this assignment.
b) Save the short-answer questions and prompts (attached to this document) to a new location
so you can add the required information. Alternatively, you may be able to print the document
and complete the assignment by hand before submitting it. Ask your teacher for guidance.
c) If anything is not clear to you, be sure to ask your teacher.

from spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors.

1. You have been approached to help start an anti-bullying club at school. What would an on-
campus, school club do to promote an anti-bullying environment?

social and mental health?

harassment?
4. During an anti-bullying club meeting after school, Lin shares that while she was on a social media
page, another student from school used instant messaging to ask Lin for her address and phone
number. Lin says that she knows of this student, but they are not friends. Because Lin has
experienced harassment from peers at school over the last month, she is not sure whether the
request is friendly.

joined your class at school. The individual wears clothes that are not very common at your school
