1. Introduction

Our project Vaatsalya includes managing and storing the details of a child for immunization and also
looks for nearest immunization centers. Our application schedule immunization of child, maintain a
digital copy of their card and also provide you facility to consult a pediatrician online. Our application
will not only help the user to preview the monthly and/or yearly data but it will also allow them to edit,
add or update records. User can login using their unique username and password. Our application has
the facility to give a unique id to every patient and stores the details of every patient. The application will
give user timely alerts for upcoming immunization date and also suggest user their nearby immunization
centers. This application will also make us aware of importance of each vaccine and disease caused if
skipped. The data can be retrieved easily. The interface is very user-friendly. The data are well protected
for personal use and makes the data processing very fast. It is having mainly two modules one for patient
and another for doctor. The Application maintains authentication in order to access the application. The
complaints which are given by user will be referred by authorities. User can view and print their
immunization cards.

1.1 Purpose

This application will help the parents to be more efficient in managing records of their child
immunization. The purpose of this project is to digitalize immunization card of child and maintain their

immunization details which will decrease the burden of parents. It also provides facility to consult a
pediatrician online. It also raises awareness of immunization.

1.2 Scope

If the immunization card is file based, management of the immunization records has to put much effort on
securing the files. They can be easily damaged by fire, insects and natural disasters. Also could be
misplaced by losing data and information. The main goal is to computerize all the details regarding the
immunization. The use of this healthcare application results in improvement in administrative functions
and hence better children care, which is the prime focus of any healthcare unit. Parents can also consult
the doctor online to save their time. Vaatsalya is essential for all healthcare establishments of children

Our application contains two modules – the user module and the doctor module. Our application will not
only help the user to preview the monthly and/or yearly data but it will also allow them to edit, add or
update records. The doctors can even add prescriptions for their patients using our application. The
application will also make us aware of importance of each vaccine and disease caused if skipped. It will
also find you the nearby immunization center.

2.1 Product Perspective

This application is a self-contained system that manages all the immunization records of the child.

Due to improperly managed vaccination record, millions of children are missing their doses immunization
doses. India is spending billions of dollars in the health sector. Where as the parents skiping their childs
immunization is creating a issue in achieving this goal.

Parents have to maintain the immunization card of their child up to 10 years which is a tedious task, the
card gets misplaced or lost. And neither the parents nor the doctors have any other detail regarding the
child, hence the child remains partially immunized.

We are providing a digital immunization card, which will be there in our database for ever and the
user(parents)can download a copy of that whenever they want, the record will be updated as per
vaccination schedule.

The usage of a database to store child’s and vaccines details etc. will accommodate easy access, retrieval,
and search and manipulation of data. The access limitations provided through access privilege levels will
enhance the security of the system. The system will facilitate concurrent access and convenience to
parents.

2.1.1 Product Function

• The parents login using a unique username and password.

• They can add children using their birth date and dummy name.
• All the vaccination will be scheduled using dob.

• The user can update the records if vaccination is received.

• Else the system generated periodic remainders will be sent on the users phone number.
• The online chat facility with the doctor is also their only the authorized doctors will be added for
the consultation purpose.

• The user can view nearby pediatrician centers where vaccination is available.

• The user download copy of their child’s vaccination card.

2.1.2 Hardware Interfaces

▪ Laptop/Desktop PC-Purpose of this is to give information when Patients ask information about doctors,
medicine available lab tests etc. To perform such Action it need very efficient computer otherwise due to
that reason patients have to wait for a long time to get what they ask for.

▪ Laser Printer (B/W) - This device is for child’s vaccination card etc.

2.1.3 Software Interfaces

▪ Python 3.10.6 - Java is fast, secure, and reliable. From laptops to data centers, game consoles to
scientific supercomputers, cell phones to the Internet,

▪ SQLIte3 - Database connectivity and management ▪ OS Windows 7/8/8.1- Very user friendly and
common OS

Here we document the APIs, versions of software that we do not have to write, but that our system has to
use. For instance if your customer uses SQL Server 7 and you are required to use that, then you need to
specify i.e.

2.1.4.1 Microsoft SQL Server 7. The system must use SQL Server as its database component.
Communication with the DB is through ODBC connections. The system must provide SQL data table
definitions to be provided to the company DBA for setup.

A key point to remember is that you do NOT want to specify software here that you think would be good to
use. This is only for customer-specified systems that you have to interact with. Choosing SQL Server 7
as a DB without a customer requirement is a Design choice, not a requirement. This is a subtle but
important point to writing good requirements and not over-constraining the design.

2.1.4 Communications Interfaces

• NIC (Network Interface Card) – It is a computer hardware component that allows a computer to
connect to a network. NICs may be used for both wired and wireless connections.

• CAT 5 network cable- for high signal integrity

• TCP/IP protocol- Internet service provider to access and share information over the Internet

• Ethernet Communications Interface- Ethernet is a frame-based computer network technology

for local area networks (LANs)

• Ubiquitous, easy to set up and easy to use. Low cost and high data transmission rate.

2.2 User Characteristics

This application is intended for the people who are comfortable with english, and know the basics of
operating an Android or IOS device.

Django- Django is used on the back-end to handle user authentication and provide the database
integration facility.

HTML/CSS - HTML and CSS are used to create static part of the website

JAVASCRIPT/BOOTSTRAP - Bootstrap is used to add responsiveness to the site so that it is accessible

through phone as well.

GOOGLE MAPS API- Maps is integrated in the website to get the locations of nearby pediatrician.

Python 3.10.6- Python is used as a support for Django.

3. Specific Requirements

3.1 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

o Response time- The system will give responses within 1 second after checking the

child’s information and other information.

o Capacity-The system must support 1000 people at a time o User interface- User

interface screen will response within 2 seconds

3.2 SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

If there is extensive damage to a wide portion of the database due to catastrophic failure,

such as a disk crash, the recovery method restores a past copy of the database that was

backed up to archival storage and reconstructs a more current state by reapplying or

redoing the operations of committed transactions from the backed up log, up to the time of

failure. All the administrative and data entry operators have unique logins so system can

understand who is login in to system right now no intruders allowed except system

administrative nobody cannot change record and valuable data.

3.3 SECURITY REQUIREMENTS

1. Want take the responsibility of failures due to hardware malfunctioning.

2. Warranty period of maintaining the software would be one year.

3. Additional payments will be analyzed and charged for further maintenance.

4. If any error occur due to a user’s improper use. Warranty will not be allocated to it.

3.2 Non functional Requirements(Software System Attributes)

3.2.1 AVAILABILITY

The availability of this web-site is up to the Internet connection of the client.

Since this is client-server related web-site shall be attainable all the time.

User should have an account to enter the system; if user does not have an account t hen user

can only see the information which will be displayed on the homepage of the web-site.

3.2.2 SECURITY

The authorization mechanism of the system will block the unwanted attempts to the server and

also let the system decide on which privileges may the user have. The system has different types

of users so there are different levels of authorization.

3.2.3 RELIABILITY

A backup file is maintained so that in case of system crash, the data will not be affected.

3.2.4 PORTABILITY

The system uses bootstrap at the front-end level, so it is fully responsive and completely portable.

Django provides in built user authentication facility, the data which is saved is hashed before b being
saved.

3.2.5 MAINTAINABILITY

This website will follow the modular structure so it will be easy to maintain.

4.Conclusion

Working on the project is an excellent experience. It is helping us to understand the

importance of planning, designing and implementation so far we have learnt in our

theory books. It helped us unleashing our creativity while working in a team. It also
realized the importance of team working, communication as a part of this project.

This project is currently undergoing a lot of compiling, debugging, removing errors, making it
bug free, adding more facilities in our application Vaatsaly and interactivity making it more
reliable and useful.
This project focused that scheduling a project and adhering to that schedule creates a
hard sense of time- management. It has also let us known that co-operative teamwork
always produce effective results.
The entire project has been developed and deployed as per the requirements stated by the
user. It is found to be bug free as per the testing standards that are implemented.

<p>Typhoid fever is a life-threatening infection caused by the bacterium Salmonella

Typhi. It is usually spread through contaminated food or water. Once Salmonella Typhi bacteria
are eaten or drunk, they multiply and spread into the bloodstream. </p>

<p>

Salmonella Typhi lives only in humans. Persons with typhoid fever carry the bacteria
in their bloodstream and intestinal tract. Symptoms include prolonged high fever, fatigue,
headache, nausea, abdominal pain, and constipation or diarrhoea.

Some patients may have a rash. Severe cases may lead to serious complications or
even death. Typhoid fever can be confirmed through blood testing.

Urbanization and climate change have the potential to increase the global burden of
typhoid.

In addition, increasing resistance to antibiotic treatment is making it easier for typhoid

to spread through overcrowded populations in cities and inadequate and/or flooded water and
sanitation systems.

<h3>Treatment</h3>

<p>

Typhoid fever can be treated with antibiotics. As resistance to antibiotics has emerged
including to fluoroquinolones, newer antibiotics such as cephalosporins and azithromycin are
used in the affected regions.

Resistance to azithromycin has been reported sporadically but it is not common as of

yet.

</p>

<p>

Even when the symptoms go away, people may still be carrying typhoid bacteria,
meaning they can spread it to others through their faeces.

</p>

<p>

It is important for people being treated for typhoid fever to do the following:

</p>

<ul>

 <li>Take prescribed antibiotics for as long as the doctor has prescribed.</li>

<li>Wash their hands with soap and water after using the bathroom,

and do not prepare or serve food for other people. This will lower the chance of
passing the infection on to someone else.</li>

<li>Have their doctor test to ensure that no Salmonella Typhi bacteria remain in their
body.</li>

<h3>Prevention</h3>

<p>

Typhoid fever is common in places with poor sanitation and a lack of safe drinking
water.

Access to safe water and adequate sanitation, hygiene among food handlers and
typhoid vaccination are all effective in preventing typhoid fever.</p>

<p>

Two vaccines have been used for many years to protect people from typhoid fever:

</p>

<ul>

<li>an injectable vaccine based on the purified antigen for people aged over 2
years</li>

<li>a live attenuated oral vaccine in capsule formulation for people aged over 5
years</li>

</ul>

<p>These vaccines do not provide long-lasting immunity and are not approved for
children younger than 2 years old.

A new typhoid conjugate vaccine, with longer lasting immunity, was prequalified by
WHO in December 2017 for use in children from the age of 6 months.

<p>BCG, or bacille Calmette-Guerin, is a vaccine for tuberculosis (TB) disease.

Many foreign-born persons have been BCG-vaccinated. BCG is used in many countries with a
high prevalence of TB to prevent childhood tuberculous meningitis and miliary disease.
However,

BCG is not generally recommended for use in the United States because of the low
risk of infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the variable effectiveness of the vaccine
against adult pulmonary TB, and the vaccine’s potential interference with tuberculin skin test
reactivity.

The BCG vaccine should be considered only for very select persons who meet
specific criteria and in consultation with a TB expert. </p>

<p>

Children. BCG vaccination should only be considered for children who have a
negative tuberculin skin test and who are continually exposed, and cannot be separated from,
adults who

</p>

<ul>

<li>Are untreated or ineffectively treated for TB disease (if the child cannot be given
long-term treatment for infection); or</li>

<li>Have TB caused by strains resistant to isoniazid and rifampin.</li>

</ul>

<p>

Health Care Workers. BCG vaccination of health care workers should be considered
on an individual basis in settings in which

</p>

<li>A high percentage of TB patients are infected with M. tuberculosis strains

resistant to both isoniazid and rifampin;

</li>

<li>

There is ongoing transmission of such drug-resistant M. tuberculosis strains to

health care workers and subsequent infection is likely; or

</li>

<li>Comprehensive TB infection-control precautions have been implemented, but

have not been successful.

</li>

</ul>

<p>Health care workers considered for BCG vaccination should be counseled

regarding the risks and benefits associated with both BCG vaccination and treatment of Latent
TB Infection (LTBI).</p>

<h3>Contraindications</h3>

<p>

<b> Immunosuppression.</b> BCG vaccination should not be given to persons who

are immunosuppressed

(e.g., persons who are HIV infected) or who are likely to become
immunocompromised (e.g., persons who are candidates for organ transplant).

</p>

<p>

<b>Pregnancy.</b> BCG vaccination should not be given during pregnancy. Even

though no harmful effects of BCG vaccination on the fetus have been observed, further studies
are needed to prove its safety.

<h3>Immunisation Schedule</h3>

<blockquote>

<p>

A single dose of BCG vaccine is required to provide lifetime immunity.

</p>

<p>Booster doses of BCG vaccine are not recommended by WHO.

BCG is preferably given at birth to provide protection in the early years

when infection can often lead to diseases such as miliary tuberculosis or

tubercular meningitis.

</p>

<p>Infants may receive the vaccine soon after birth or later,

but preferably before exposure to persons with active tuberculosis.</p>
