2. CALL TO WORSHIP

L: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,

the love of God and the communion
of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
All: And also with you.
L: We are gathered here this morning
to remember the death of Jesus
Christ who died a painful death a
long time ago, dying for you and me.
All: We gather to remember, to mourn,
to try to understand what
happened on that day, when Jesus
showed the depth of His love for
others.
L: So much was offered between the
cradle and the Cross, between
Bethlehem and Jerusalem - a life of
passion, a life of promise, a life of
love.
All: From birth to death, He was a man
of sorrows who revered God, who
loved life, who kept joy, who was
sensitive, compassionate, real and
alive.
L: We experience the passion of Jesus,
who suffered and died this day,
saying from his loving heart,
“Father, forgive them, for they do
not know what they are doing”.
All: He was crucified for our sins. We
are His, now and forevermore.
L: We are gathered here to reflect on
the Seven Words that Jesus spoke
from the Cross. Let us worship God
and praise God’s Holy Name. Come
let us worship the God who weeps
with us and together reflect on the
meaning of Jesus’ death.
All: Amen.

8.8 SUMMARY:
 Rev. M. Aaron (8’)
 Rev. M. Simane (8’)
9. HYMN: To God Be The Glory
To God be the glory, great things He hath done,
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
Who yielded His life our redemption to win,
And opened the life-gate that all may go in.
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the earth hear His voice;
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the people rejoice;
Oh, come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory; great things He hath done.

2. Oh, perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,

To every believer the promise of God;
The vilest offender who truly believes,
That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.

3. Great things He hath taught us, great things He

hath done,
And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son;
But purer, and higher, and greater will be
Our wonder, our transport when Jesus we see.
