Grade IX & X [Morning] and VII AND VIII [Afternoon]
Dear Parents,
Kindly note, the Student Council gives an opportunity to the children to witness the Principles
of Democracy as enshrined in our constitution, during the process of fair & free elections held at
the school and post elections when the Student Council formed is ‘of the students, by the students
and for the students’. PIS, Nashik is going to form its new ‘Students Council’ for the academic year
2025-26. Please follow the procedure for the formation of the Student Council.
Rounds for Selection procedure:
1. Filling of nomination form by interested students
2. Scrutiny of Nomination forms (Please note that attitude, behavior and values form the core of
selection though academic proficiency may be one of the credit points)
3. Review of Candidate list by Principal Sir and Vice Principal ma’am.
4. 1st list of shortlisted candidates
5. Leadership Competency Test (no syllabus, it will be based on EQ and SQ, focused on attitudes, values,
beliefs and aspirations)
6. Declaration of finalists
7. Grooming session (Briefing of their role, duties & responsibilities)
8. Scrutiny of election campaigning
9. Election Campaigning
10.Voting
11.Declaration of results
12.Investiture Ceremony
13.Interaction with the newly elected members
A. Criteria for Nomination
NOTE: ONLY STUDENTS OF GRADES IX, X (Morning Shift) and Grade VII, VIII (Afternoon) ARE
ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR THE ELECTION. REFER THE ANNEXURE FOR DETAILS.
1. For ALL Nominees:
i) Academic grades– A and above in ALL Subjects in II TERM EXAM 2024-25 ii) Co-Scholastic
grades– A in minimum Two Subjects.
iii) Values, Attitude and Beliefs:
a. Discipline
b. Behavior: works independently, stays on tasks
c. Attitude: toward teachers and peers
d. Values, punctuality and regularity
e. Empathy towards all
f. Initiative
g. Leadership qualities
h. Proactiveness
2. For Sports Prefect and Deputy Prefect:
i) All of the above.
ii) Medals & Certificates in Sports Competition at National, State, District or Inter School
level
3. For Cultural Prefect and Deputy Prefect:
i) All of the above.
ii) Medals and certificates in Inter School or Intra School co-curricular Competitions other
than sports.
4. For Literary Prefect and Deputy Prefect:
i) All of the above.
ii) Medals and certificates in Inter School or Intra School Literary Competitions
B. Students can apply for ONE position only which they find most suited to their personality
and aspirations.
C. Please find details of positions for Student Council Election and important dates with this circular.

Other important details:
• Nomination Forms and necessary documents regarding the student’s council : Nomination
form – online and other hard copy of other documents to be submitted to the class teachers.
• Posting of list of shortlisted candidates and other information regarding the process at
different levels: Through whatsApp group / announcement in the assembly/ class.
• Nomination forms, Student and Parent Declaration forms will be rolled out as Google forms.
The form will close post the timeline mentioned in the form and no further extension will be granted
nor any request for consideration taken
