Цель урока: научить учащихся представлять историю
своей страну средствами английского языка
Задачи урока:
1. Познакомить учащихся с основными событиями истории
   России.
2. Показать роль личности в истории.
3. Пробудить у учащихся интерес к истории и культуре
   своей страны.
4. Познакомить учеников с лексикой по теме «История
   России».
5. Проверить понимание с помощью теста.

The Romanov Dynasty ruled
 Russia from 1613 to 1917.
Peter I,
called
Peter the
Great, was
the
founder of
the Russian
Empire.
Russia expanded its territory
between 1689 and 1796 under
Peter and Catherine the Greats.
Maria Feodorovna
   (1847 –1928),
christened Dagmar,
   was a Danish
    princess and
 Empress of Russia
    as spouse of
 Tsar Alexander III
 The Russian Museum was
opened in 1895, by a decree
   of Tsar Alexander III.
In 2006 the reburial of empress
Maria Feodorovna, the mother of
Russia's last tsar, took place in St.
Petersburg in accordance with her
wishes.
The effects of
World War I gave
rise to the
Russian Revolution
of 1917, which
caused the collapse
of Imperial Russia
and the end of
the Romanov
dynasty.
The siege of Leningrad lasted almost
two and one-half years and cost the
lives of an estimated 1,000,000 city
residents.
In 1989 the leaders of the world's
superpowers, the USSR and the US,
met in Malta for a summit which
marked the end of the Cold War.
In 1991 the USSR broke up
into 15 independent states.
  Boris Yeltsin
    was the
first President
of the Russian
  Federation.
He served from
 1991 to 1999.
Vladimir Putin is the
current President of
      Russia.
