MAN WALKS ON MOON
Neil Armstrong becomes first human to step on lunar surface
"That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."
In a historic moment that will be remembered for generations to come,
Neil Armstrong became the first human to set foot on the lunar surface
today at 10:56 PM EDT. The Apollo 11 mission has successfully achieved
what was once thought impossible, marking a new era in human exploration.
The lunar module Eagle touched down in the Sea of Tranquility at 4:17 PM EDT,
with Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin becoming the first humans to walk on another
celestial body. Michael Collins remained in orbit aboard the command module.
This achievement represents the culmination of years of research,
development, and dedication by thousands of scientists, engineers,
and astronauts at NASA and its partner organizations.
