Oral Presentation: grade 8 - Third term "Create a Travel Advertisement for an English-Speaking Country"

Work in groups to design a fun travel agency promo! Here’s what to do:

1. Create Your Travel Agency

- Invent a cool name for your agency (e.g., “Adventure Globe” or “Sunny Trips”).

2. Pick a Country

- You’ll randomly choose an English-speaking country (like Canada, South Africa, India, New Zealand and Jamaica).

- Share basic info:

-Where is it located?

- What is the National Emblem/Icon:

Include a famous symbol of the country (e.g., Australia’s kangaroo).

Explain what it represents

- The Flag:

- Show the flag and break down its **colors, symbols, and meaning**. Example:

- *Australia’s flag*: “The Union Jack shows its British history, the Southern Cross stars represent its location in the
Southern Hemisphere, and the Commonwealth Star symbolizes unity.”

Explain why It matters: Link the emblem and flag to the country’s identity, history, or values.

- What’s the currency? (Dollars, pounds, etc.)

- What official languages do people speak there?

- What’s the country known for? (Cities? Nature? Beaches?)

- How about the population origins?

3. Quick History Lesson

- Explain *why* people speak English there. Why is the country among "the English-speaking countries"?

4. Top 5 Must-See Landmarks

- Pick 5 famous places

- For each, say *why* tourists should visit them.

5. Fun Activities for Tourists: - Suggest cool things to do

6. Fake Tourist Quotes: - Invent 5 quotes from “tourists” using **present perfect tense** to convince others.
1
7. Grammar Tip: Use Different Relative Pronouns

- Include sentences with **who, which, that, where**, or **whose**

Notes:

- Make your audience want to pack their bags and visit! Use photos, posters, or act out a fun skit.

- You are not allowed to use Canva for your oral presentation, you can use PowerPoint only. Just insert the keywords
within the PowerPoint.

- You are allowed to have some keywords on a paper not long sentence.

- A copy-paste from AI (Artificial Intelligence) will be severely penalized. Make sure your work is original, you can do it!

- It will be graded out of 20: 10 points for the group work and 10 points for the individual performance and commitment.

Here’s How Your Work Will Be Graded:

A-GROUP GRADE:
