ARRIVAL INFORMATION:
Please note that Health, Immigration, Agriculture and Customs, Port security officers will
board the Vessel once alongside.

ISPS level is 1
All formalities are done when ship is alongside. Free pratique granted same time.
For coming in ship: Pilot ladder starboard side 1.5 meters above water.
Discharge garbage not recommended .There is no sorting and incinerator in the country.
Discharge sludge possible in small quantities. We need to know in advance 72 hrs
quantity.

Piracy, While at anchor during night, it could happen some fisherman will try to see
what they could collect on the deck. When spotted they jump and disappear .Usually they
do not try again. Keeping one crew patrolling at night is ok.
In port, We had no problem for quite very long time. We recommend, but not
compulsory, to take watchmen as an additional security measure.

HEALTH OFFICERS:
Require- 2copies crew/Vaccination list and filled maritime declaration/free pratique
forms. The Galleys ,mess /cold rooms and provision stores to be inspected.

IMMIGRATIONS:
Require 2 copies crew list and filled Immigration declaration form will also issue the
shore passes to the crews.

CUSTOMS:
Will ask for 2 copies crew list, 2 copies last ports of calls list, cargo manifest/ Bill of
lading, Passenger list if any and bond store/provision list, crew’s personal effects
declaration forms to be filled.
Another team of custom from Oil Bonded Installation will come on board please
give all document you have concerning cargo on board and also in transit to other
ports. They will ask Captain/Chief Officer same as above plus discharge
instructions, certificate of quality, storage plan. PLS give FULL cooperation. They
are the source of problem if treated badly without clear information.

AGRICULTURIAL OFFICERS:
Will ask for 1 copy crew list, agriculture declaration form to be filled. The galley mess
rooms cold rooms and provision store to be inspected. They are looking for insect in the
rice and cockroaches in the kitchen . ( Be aware tricky people)

For tankers:
JETTY MASTER /LOADING MASTER WILL REQUEST: FOLLOWING COPIES
IOPP certificate, ISM Compliance Certificate, Safe Manning Certificate ,Document of
compliance certificate.(DOC),Safety Management certificate (SMC),Certificate of
Insurance or other Financial security in respect of civil liability for oil pollution damage.
Ships particulars,Crew list.
IMPORTANT : TO BE CONSIDERED BY THE PORT AS ARRIVED FOR DAR
PORT AS OUTER ANCHORAGE SHIP MUST CROSS EAST MERIDIAN 039o
20’ ON HER APPROACH. ONLY THEN SHE WILL BE ASSIGNED HER
ROTATION NUMBER.

VESSEL BERTHING: Upon berthing vessel is advised to contact port


control/signal station 2hours before berthing time. This is to enable early
preparation of engine, aweigh the anchor, and proceed to pilot boarding ground
timely.

VESSEL DEPARTURE: Vessel advised to contact port control as soon as she


completes cargo discharge operation 1hr before during paper works to confirm pilot
boarding time. Pilot usually requires 1hr advance notice.

WATCHMEN ARE NOT COMPULSORY but recommended and are on owner’s


account. We are usually listening VHF channel 72 from 0800hrs to 1700 hrs.
Our cars are also equipped with vhf marine bands.

EXPENSES ON BOARD:
Better the CAPTAIN advice the AGENT in advance any cost related to Owners matters,
i.e. garbage/ wastes disposal, ship handling, costs and obtain approval from the owner.
We have been experiencing difficulties being refunded this money. Should the CAPTAIN
incur any cost without notifying the agent/ Owner, AGENT not responsible for any
settlement.

NOR/ FREE PRATIQUE


Healthy Officers grant Free Pratique. Normally NOR is accepted by receivers, incase not
available agent accept NOR on behalf.
