Point to each picture and say what the person’s profession is, e.g. "She is a police officer." Have the students
repeat. Provide the spelling and have the students write down the word under the picture.

Go through the verbs explaining or translating their meaning. Then have the students complete the text. Play the
audio file or use your mobile device to scan the QR code (make sure you have installed a QR code reader app and
can access the Internet on your device). After listening to the interview, ask the students about their routines until
they are comfortable responding to the question "What time do you ...?" The affirmative and question forms of
the present simple are presented in Exercise 5. Explain that the present simple is used for talking about routines,
not actions happening now.

If some students are not in employment, ask about their routines. Ask the first student a question, e.g. "Maria,
when do you get up?" Then have him/her ask the next student, e.g. "Pawel, what time do you leave home?" The
second part of the exercise can also be done around the class.
