Batter swings at wild pitch that gets past catcher. Record strike out (SO) and check if batter is safe or out by rolling 2d6. If the dice result is equal or less
45 - 64 than the batter's RUN rating, batter beats throw to 1st base. Batting team gets an "extra" out (i.e.,need 4 outs to end batting team's inning). If the dice
result is greater than the RUN rating, catcher throws batter out at 1st base to complete the strike out (SO), record and play as normal.
Batter strikes out (SO) on great pitch by pitcher, but catcher drops the ball. Roll 1d6. If equal or less than the catcher's E rating, catcher makes easy throw

Foul tip hits catcher in a tender spot. Check catcher for injury. If catcher remains in game, remaining batters this inning roll on their TOUGH sections until

with a single.
SS reaches ball grounded up the middle and fires to 1st base. The ball clearly beats the batter, but the ump rules the 1B pulled his foot off the base and
80 - 84
batter is safe with a single. All runners score while the 1B argues with the ump.
LF makes slidling attempt on sinking line drive, but catches it on a short hop. If there is a runner on 2nd base, he is thrown out at 3rd base by the LF. If
85 - 89 no runner on 2nd base, the runner on 1st base is thrown out at 2nd base by the LF. If no runner on 1st base, the batter is thrown out at 2nd base. Runner
on 3rd base (if any) scores and batter is credited with a single. Batter is safe at 1st base if a runner is thrown out.
Batter hits a line drive off the pitcher's glove that is caught by the 1B who doubles off the closest runner. 1B tags runner just off 1st base; otherwise
90 - 99
throws to closest base before runner can return.

RUNNERS ON BASE - DEFENSE (and RANGE or ERROR results)

% DICE RESULT
Line drive is smashed down the 3rd base line. 3B with an A or B range catches the ball and doubles off closest runner. If there was 2 or more runners and
00 - 05 a runner on 1st base, the runner on 1st base is also out for a triple play. 3B with a range of C or worse cannot get to the ball and it bounces into the
corner for a double with all runners scoring.
If runner on 1st base, ground ball to SS is fielded and tossed to 2B for the force out. Runner upends 2B and batter is called out due to interference for a
06 - 13 double play. Check 2B for injury. If no runner on 1st base, an A or B rated SS throws the batter out. SS with a C or worse range throws late allowing an
infield single. In all cases, other runners advance 1 base.
If runner on 1st base, ground ball to 2B is fielded and tossed to SS for the force out. Runner upends SS and batter is called out due to interference for a
14 - 21 double play. Check SS for injury. If no runner on 1st base, an A or B rated 2B throws the batter out. 2B with a C or worse range throws late allowing an
infield single. In all cases, other runners advance 1 base.
22 - 24 Batter hits a shallow fly ball to CF. Ump rules catcher's interference and awards batter 1st base (score as E2). Runners advance 1 base.
2B fields ball cleanly, but makes a poor throw to 1B. Perform a range check on 1B. If out, score it as a 4-3 out. Otherwise, score as 1 base error on 2B. In
25 - 30
all cases, runners advance 1 base.
3B fields ball cleanly, but makes a poor throw to 1B. Perform a range check on 1B. If out, score it as 5-3 out. Otherwise, score as 1 base error on 3B. In
31 - 36
all cases, runners advance 1 base.
37 - 38 Pitcher is called for a balk; all runners advance 1 base. Pitcher is rattled; resolve at-bat using batter's WHEELHOUSE section.

SS fields ball cleanly, but makes a poor throw to 1B. Perform a range check on 1B. If out, score it as 6-3 out. Otherwise, score as 1 base error on SS. In
39 - 44
all cases, runners advance 1 base.
Batter hits a pop fly to LF. Roll 1d6. If equal or less than the LF E rating, ball is caught for the out and the LF fires the ball into the stands. If less than 3
45 - 46 outs, each runner is awarded 1 base and LF is charged with an error. If d6 result is greater than the E rating, LF drops the ball for a 2 base error. All
runners score.
Batter hits a pop fly to RF. Roll 1d6. If equal or less than the RF E rating, ball is caught for the out and the RF fires the ball into the stands. If less than 3
47 - 48 outs, each runner is awarded 1 base and RF is charged with an error. If d6 result is greater than the E rating, RF drops the ball for a 2 base error. All
runners score.
LF leaps to catch ball at the wall. Resolve as normal Range play. If out, LF catches the ball and all runners advance 1 base. If hit, all runners score and
49 - 54
batter is thrown out at 3rd base by the CF trying for a triple. Credit batter with a double.
CF leaps to catch ball at the wall. Resolve as normal Range play. If out, CF catches the ball and all runners advance 1 base. If hit, all runners score and
55 - 61
batter is thrown out at 3rd base by the LF trying for a triple. Credit batter with a double.
RF leaps to catch ball at the wall. Resolve as normal Range play. If out, RF catches the ball and all runners advance 1 base. If hit, all runners score and
62 - 67
batter is thrown out at 3rd base by the CF trying for a triple. Credit batter with a double.
Catcher attempts to pick off lead runner. Roll 1d6. If greater than the catcher's E rating, the ball sails into the outfield and all runners advance 2 bases. If
68 - 70
the d6 is equal or less than the E rating, the throw is on target, but late and the runner is safe. Resolve at-bat using DEFENSE as normal.
A moderate rain begins to fall. It is not enough to postpone play or the game, but makes conditions miserable. Starting with this batter and for the
71 - 79
remainder of the game, all DEFENSE checks automatically fail (assume a roll of 01 on the percentile dice). Use DEFENSE to resolve this at-bat.
Amazing job by ground crew has the field in perfect condition. Beginning with this at-bat, all DEFENSE checks for the remainder of the game are
80 - 89
automatic outs (assume a roll of 99 on the percentile dice). Use DEFENSE to resolve this at-bat.
Batter legs out an infield single. Perform a range check on 1B. If out, the 1B concealed the ball and tags out the runner when he takes his lead off. If hit,
90 - 92
the hidden ball trick does not work and the 1B returns the ball to the pitcher. Resolve the next at-bat using DEFENSE.
If the pitcher has a SO/9 of 4.0 or less, all remaining at-bats this inning use DEFENSE. All other pitchers, resolve this at-bat with DEFENSE and return to
93 - 95
play as normal.
Passed ball (PB) by catcher. All runners advance 1 base. If catcher has a B or worse range, roll 1d10 for each runner. If the result is equal or less than his
RUN rating, he advances an extra base. Otherwise, that runner and trailing runners only advance 1 base. Catcher with an A range throws out lead runner
96 - 99
trying for extra base (catcher throws to pitcher covering home if extra base is home plate); other runners hold (advance 1 base on passed ball and then
hold and do not try for extra base). Use DEFENSE to resolve this at-bat.
