SLUG REJECTOR MOUNTING PLATE ADJUSTMENT

Be sure that the phonograph is positioned on a level surface prior to making any adjustments to the
SLUG REJECTOR MOUNTING PLATE. Should it be necessary to compensate for uneven footing, the
following methods may be used.

1. Side to side leveling of the phonograph may be accomplished by placing blocks o r strips under
the casters on the low side of the cabinet. Check SLUG REJECTOR for proper coin acceptance.
2. Front to back leveling of the SLUG REJECTOR may be accomplished by loosening the seven
MOUNTING SCREWS andpositioningthe SLUG REJECTOR PLATE a s required. TightenMOUNT-
ING SCREWS. Check SLUG REJECTOR for proper coin acceptance.

NOTE

Access to all MOUNTING SCREWS is accomplished by lifting the RETAINING SPRING, moving the top
of the SLUG REJECTOR to the left then lifting out.

Page 2A WURLITZER
COIN SWITCH ADJUSTMENTS

Remove ANGLE and GUARD ASSEMBLY to obtain access to coin switch.

With coin switch paddles resting flush

against bottom of slug rejector, verify
spacing between switch mounting bracket
and cover and clip assembly is 1/4"

Tension of the long movable blades must

be sufficient to hold the coin switch pad-
dles against bottom of slug rejector.

Thestiffener blades should be set to pro-

vide 1/32" opening betweenshort andlong
movable contact blades .

The short blades must bear against stiff-

eners with sufficient tension to prevent
vibration. This should be approximately
one gram on the 10 cent blade and two to
three grams on the 5, 25 and 50 cent
blades.

E . When phonograph is equipped with W u r -

litzer Income Computer, adjust r e a r
stiffener blades to provide opening be-
tween contacts a s stated in step C .

The tension of the long movable blades should be adjusted s o a thin coin, when stopped on it's coin
paddle by holding the paddle up, will upon releasing the paddle, actuate the movable blade, close the
contacts then clear paddle.

1. Install SLUG REJECTOR in phonopaph and apply power

2. Test each individual coin track ten consecutive times with coins of varied wear. If a coin fails
to register, that particular coin switchshould be examined and, if necessary, readjusted. Check
SLUG REJECTOR for proper alignment.

A pulse of more than five seconds duration should normally trip the circuit breaker in the coin mag-
net circuit.

SECTION E

ELECTRICAL SEQUENCE
STATESMAN

The electrical sequence of operation has been especially prepared to assist in trouble shooting the
electrical circuitry of the Statesman Phonograph.
Individual circuits have been lifted from the master wiring diagrams anu presented sequentially in
functional form. This enables one to trace and trouble shoot the electrical circuitry step by step
from the closing of a coin switch - the establishment of a credit - the making of a selection - the
playing of a record. Each of the essential circuits may thus be traced with a minimum of "wading
through schematics " .
Each circuit of the wiring diagrams ( s e e Section G ) is numbered, the circuit number designates the
wire color, see wiring diagram color code, Section G .

In the following schematics the encircled numbers designate the circuit numbers: for example ...
KEY SERIES SWITCHES RELAY 1
SWITCH NUMBER LETTER COIL

The 42 circuit connects the key switch to the normally closed number series switch. A jumper con-
nects the number series switch to the normally closed letter series switch. The 47 circuit connects
the letter series switch to the coil of relay 1.
Relays a r e designated RY -1, RY -2, etc . ; RY -1 (13) indicated relay 1, terminal 13; RY -2 (10-6)
indicates relay 2, terminals 10 and 6 . Blade switches a r e numbered in accordance with illustration
shown below .
0
The 32 circuit is common ground at junction box and amplifier.
. .
The
0
35
circuit is -28 volts D C
.
The
0
40
circuit is 24 volts A. C
