Introduction
TOPIC: Define and elaborate the researcher’s topic in paragraph form, give example that will
clarify your chosen subject matter.
IMPORTANCE: Explain the relevance of the topic in the everyday life of the individuals that
will be benefiting from your research.
REASONS FOR CHOOSING YOUR TOPIC: Justify reseacher’s desire in choosing the topic
on the motivation that led them to choosing the topic.
PURPOSE: To end the introduction, use another paragraph to discuss the objectives of the
research.
1.1 Background of the Study
Consists of statements on how the researcher was led in conducting the study. Describe
the problem as clearly as possible. Researchers may quote from literatures related to the topic.
1.2 Statement of the Problem
This study aims to determine the problem/title. Specific questions that the researcher aims

1.3 Theoretical Framework
This is the foundation of your research study. The researcher must look for at least one
reliable theory that will serve as the backbone of the research and support for the investigation
and observation of the problem being investigated/researched. This theory must be aligned to
what the researcher is trying to find out in the study.

This study focuses on the Effects of Depression to the Academic Performance of
Senior High School in Nabua National High School. The data collection will be conducted to
100 randomly selected students in Senior High School of Nabua National High School year
2019-2020 who will represent the population.
This study will not cover other problems that are not consider as one of the stressors
and depressants. Each of the respondents is given the same questionnaires to answer. The
results of this study will be applicable only to the respondents of this study and will not be
used as a measure to the effects of depression on the academic performance of the students
who do not belong to the population of this study. The main source of data will be the
questionnaire, which is prepared by researchers.
