Analysis of Rates

The document outlines calculations for materials required in construction, including cement, mortar, and bricks for various types of brickwork and plastering. It specifies the proportions of materials needed for different thicknesses of plastering and provides formulas for calculating volumes of wet and dry mortar. Additionally, it emphasizes the importance of accounting for factors such as bulking, shrinkage, and wastage in these calculations.

Motar For plastering

Actual volume of brick in 1 m3 of earthwork = 500 × (0.19 × 0.09 × 0.09 )= 0.7695 m3.
The volume of actual mortar (m3) = 1 - 0.7695 = 0.2305 m3.

Increasing the wet volume by 30% takes into account the effect
material for 12mm thick plastering of 100 sqm, wall Area
of bulking, shrinkage, drying, etc. → Volume of wet motar = 100x 0.012 = 1.2 cum
- Since, 1 cum wet motor = 1.60 cum dry motar
∴ Dry mortar for cement = 1.3 × 0.2305 m3 = 0.3 m3 So 1.2 cum wet motar =1.2x1•60
=1.92 cum dry motar
= 2 cum dry mostar

Calculation Calculate the volume (cubic metre) of the dry mortar required for 1 cubic metre brick work.
or 1 m3 of brick work with cement mortar of 1: 4
Number of bricks along with mortar = 1 / (0.2 × 0.1 × 0.1) = 500 number.
Actual volume of brick in 1 m3 of earthwork = 500 × (0.19 × 0.09 × 0.09 )= 0.7695 m3.

The volume of actual mortar (m3) = 1 - 0.7695 = 0.2305 m3.

Increasing the wet volume by 30% takes into account the effect of bulking,
shrinkage, drying, etc.

∴ Dry volume of mortar = 1.3 × 0.2305 m3 = 0.3 m3
