Reasons for selecting the area of research

The researcher has chosen this topic because the value and importance of religion in the lives
of our teenagers have decreased, therefore the researcher is curious to know the main cause
as to why teenagers turn away from religion. She also wants to know the effect it has on the
church and communities at large and the advantages religion can have on teenagers.

The researcher has observed many teenagers in the community who are not attending any
religious institution or functions. Most times it is the older and younger members of the society
who are attending a church.

Analysis & interpretation of Data

The majority of the residents of Buff Bay think that teenagers turn away from religion, because they
see it as born and restricted.
Further estimate and observation as shown why this response was more prevalent among the
respondents. The teenagers are not properly educated about religion. They are misled due to peer
pressure from ungodly people. Also presenting religion to teenagers in a more modern and
interesting way would result in a more positive outcome in getting teenagers interested in religion.

Findings
The researcher has revealed a few useful information with respect to why

teenagers turn away from religion in my community of Buff bay. These

include:

1. Peer pressure by family or friends. This was indicated by 30% of the 18

residents who responded to the questionnaire residing in 21 west

norman lane, Buff bay. However, if teenagers. However if teenagers

put their mind to Christianity and overcome peer pressure, you would

find Less away.

2. Lack of interest in church. This was indicated by 50% of the 18

Respondents who responded to the questionnaire. However, if

teenagers are better educated about religion, you would find less

turning away.

3. Lack of access to church. This was indicated by 20% of the 18

residents who responded to the questionnaire.

Recommendation & implementation of strategy

The importance of having teenagers, turning to cannot be overestimated. In order
to have a country with few young people getting into trouble and good moral
values instilled in teenagers, religion can play a major part in their upBringing.
The most important recommendation is the need to better educate teenagers about
religion through schools, clubs, and in other social settings, and also to have our
religion presented to them in a modern and interesting way and not that of an
uptight kinda belief.
Members of the community can play their part by supporting and guiding
teenagers into religion. On our whole we should embark on discipleship teaching
for teenagers.

In order to solve the problem, I would do the following.

1. Engaged teenagers in discussion, allowing them to express their thoughts

and questions freely.
2. Connect religion, teachings, and stories to topics teenagers find interesting,
such as relationships or personal growth.
3. Engaged teenagers in religious community activity.
4. Create a welcoming and inclusive environment, fostering a sense of
belonging.
