Control Panel

Foreword

This manual contains necessary information for the safe operation of this equipment. Operators of this
equipment should first read and understand this manual. In addition, this manual will be needed when
responding to equipment trouble, so should be kept close at hand. Referring to the equipment’s drawings
will help with understanding.

_Caution_
 This manual includes descriptions of equipment including options which may differ from the specifications
for your vessel.
 The illustrations and photographs used in this manual may differ from the actual equipment.
 Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of this manual, however, if inaccuracies are found,
we ask you please inform us.
 Mishandling of the equipment may cause damage.
Please be aware that in such instances repair charges will be applied even during the warranty period.

Please refer to the separate manual for details of the Level Aeran Type 2 (control box) or Level Aeran X
(MPP-Unit).

Handling Instructions

The terms “Warning” and “Caution” used in this manual are defined as below. Important information is
presented below and is intended to help prevent physical injury or property damage. Be sure to read
carefully and understand this information before operating the equipment.

Failure to follow warnings may lead to fire or electrical

Failure to follow cautions may result in damage to the

Do not dismantle or alter.

Do not touch with hands.

Level Alarm
-1. Other than normal activation during cargo operations, the Musasino detector’s variable level alarms,
independent alarms or bilge alarms may activate due to rolling or sloshing.
Alarms may activate due to movements during navigation, however, this is not a malfunction.
-2. Independent alarms or bilge alarms will also activate if there is a disconnection in the circuits.

Handling Instructions

Warning
If you notice smoke, abnormal noises or smells coming from the equipment, or if water
or other liquid has entered the equipment, discontinue use and immediately switch off
power at the Musasino panel.

Caution
Use within limits of operating conditions (temperature, humidity, etc.)

When the system is operating strangely or this device has sustained damage, turn off
the power at the panel and contact Musasino immediately.

Turn on power at the panel only after being certain of the wiring connections.
 If there is faulty wiring and power is turned on at the Musasino panel, the system
circuits may burn out.

Use a solderless terminal (pin terminal) to connect plug-type (tension grip) terminal
boards and wiring.

Be sure to turn power off at the panel before connecting wiring, replacing parts, or
conducting repairs, inspections or upgrades.

Appropriately tighten screws, etc. when wiring, replacing parts, or conducting repairs,
inspection or upgrades.

Do not connect or disconnect wiring terminals for this system while power is on at the
panel.

Never use a megger tester.

Do not disassemble any units inside this panel.

When cleaning, do not touch any conductive parts with a damp cloth.

be prevented from activating.

_Caution_

when one or more alarms activates frequently while at

 Be sure to set this switch to the upward position during
A16 loading.
CUT  When this switch is set to “CUT”, the independent
alarm lamp on the indicator will flicker and the buzzer
will sound.
3-1.Active Alarms (page 15)
The above procedure will change the lamp to
continuously on. Returning the switch to the upward
position will enable the alarm. If the level of any tank is
above the alarm position, the light will remain steadily
on.

3. During Operation
-1. Active Alarms
_Caution_
The following instructions apply only to Musasino panels equipped with two switches (Buzzer Stop Switch
and Flicker Stop Switch).
3-2. Active Power Failure Alarm (page 16).

When level, temperature, or pressure exceeds the alarm position of a detector, the buzzer will sound and
the relevant alarm lamp will flicker. After confirming the cause of the alarm, follow the procedure below
to silence the buzzer.

Step1
Press the Buzzer Stop Switch (or the Local Alarm Stop Switch). BUZZER STOP
The buzzer is stopped.
_Caution_
In the case of a local alarm, confirm both the buzzer and the local alarm system
stop.
Local alarm system: Electronic Alarm (with LED Flash Beacon), etc.

Step2
Press the Flicker Stop Switch when the buzzer has stopped.
The alarm lamp will stop flickering, but remain on until conditions return to FLICKER STOP

normal.

3.During Operation

-2. Active Power Failure Alarm


When the Power Failure Alarm lamp, buzzer and switch are installed, an emergency power supply
(DC24V) is provided in the panel. If the regular power supply is interrupted for any reason, all of the
instruments (including alarm lamps) in the panel will cease indication, and the power failure alarm lamp
and buzzer will activate.

Move the Buzzer Stop Switch to the Stop position (to the right).

back to the left.
When regular power is restored, the lamp automatically shuts off.
Light of the emergency power lamp varies into “NORMAL” from
“EMERGENCY”.
_Caution_
The Buzzer Stop Switch is manual and must be moved to the left. BUZZER⇒STOP
If the switch is moved back to the left before regular power is restored,
the buzzer will re-activate.

Caution
If the Buzzer Stop Switch is remains in the Stop position after regular power is restored,
the buzzer will not activate for a new power failure alarm.

4. Maintenance & Inspection


It is suggested that maintenance and inspection be performed every six (6) months.

Caution
Be sure to turn off power to the panel before conducting inspections.
Turn on the power when necessary.

5. Troubleshooting
If you suspect this equipment has failed, search for the relevant symptoms and follow the
countermeasures provided. If the countermeasures do not return the system to normal, or the relevant
symptoms cannot be found, contact Musasino to dispatch our service personnel. Contact information can
be found in the Foreword.

Symptom 1
Power is on, but system is not working.
Presumed Cause and Countermeasure
1. A fuse has blown in the panel due to excessive power.
 Turn the power off and check each part (inside the panel) to confirm there is no damage and replace
the fuse.

Symptom 2
System malfunction lamp is on.
Presumed Cause and Countermeasure
1. A malfunction has occurred in the communication system.
 Check the connections for the LAN cable, etc.

Symptom 3
Displays do not change from 0 (0m, 0°C, 0kPa, etc.).
Presumed Cause and Countermeasure
1. There is a disconnected line or loose connection between the equipment (detector and
controller, etc.).
 Use a screwdriver to tighten any loose points, or use a screwdriver and connector to fix any
disconnections.
2. There is a loose screw at the controller terminal.
 Tighten the screw(s) with a screwdriver.

Symptom 4
A power failure alarm is active

1. Something has caused the regular power supply to stop.
 De-activate the power cut alarm.
