1. Leaners must be able to identify and highlight the most important points from the passage.

3. They must be able to write a summary using the strategies to consolidate critical information and details.

6. Lesson Development
6.1. Teacher’s Activities: Pre-Phase/ Introduction
The teacher will start by briefly explaining the lesson of the day about summary writing. The educator will then explain the objectives
that the leaners must have achieved after the lesson. The teacher will make the leaners link their prior knowledge from past grades
about summary writing.

6.2. Learners’ Activities: Pre-Phase:


Before the lesson begins learners politely stand up and greet the teacher.
Prior the lesson leaners must prepare themselves for the lesson, get the resources they will use during the lesson, process their prior
knowledge about writing a summary.

6.3. Teacher’s Activities: During Phase


During the lesson, the educator’s activities are to teach more about how to create a summary and take notes of the grammar and
spelling.
The teacher may also consider sharing examples assist learners to identify the key components of a summary. Further explain about
Constructing an appropriate sentence on the main points and teach them how to avoid unnecessary points and teach them the seven

steps
summarizing.

6.4. Learners’ Activities: During Phase


During this period, learners’ activities are to engage in the lesson and listen attentively as the teacher delivers the content. They must
write
Wite down the key points that the teacher raises in class. Pupils must also pay full attention and not cause any disturbance, if they
have any
Question they indicate by raise of hand. They must also take notes about point selection and the 7 steps in summarizing.

6.5. Classroom Assessment: (Group or Individual) Activity/ Task: Highlight what is to be done here.
The teacher will give learners an individual classroom activity based on a passage. On this short passage pupils must create a
summary
According to the instructions given by the teacher. Learners must first read the passage more than once and highlight the most 7
important points. The activity will be out of 10 marks.

Leaners reviewed their understanding about the topic and were able to link their previous knowledge and connected it with the newly
obtained information somehow using the constructivist theory. More questions were posed to the teacher. They received homework
that
was about the topic of the day.

6.8. Expanded Opportunities: Indicate activities that will be assigned to learners


After the lesson, the leaners will hand over their classroom activities to be marked by the teacher and be helped by the teacher to do
corrections. Leaners will be given a platform to share their views about summary writing and ask questions to get clarity. The teacher
will
open a classroom discussion and ask pupils questions to assess how they understood the lesson of the day.

7. Teacher’s Reflection: To be completed after the lesson has been delivered
The lesson was successful because most of the learners understood the content. The teacher became aware of the leaners’ different
or
unique needs when it comes to the learning and teaching process. The learning objectives were achieved which was the primary goal.
Some
methods did not work for the learners, but an alternative was found. The types of methods used accommodated each leaner.
