2 Present Simple and Present Continuous
Part A: Look at the pictures of Julie’s life. Discuss what each picture shows.
Part B: Read the paragraph about Julie and answer the questions.
Julie is soaking up the sunshine on a beach in Greece. It is her summer vacation. She is a
teacher and works in the local elementary school. Her days are normally very hectic.
From Monday to Friday, she gets up at six, has a quick breakfast and then takes the bus to
work. She finishes at four and goes to the gym on the way home. In the evening, she
cooks her dinner, plans her lessons, and grades homework. She usually goes to bed
around ten. But right now, she is feeling relaxed. She is reading a novel while listening to
the waves. She doesn’t want to go home.
1. Where is Julie?
2. What does she do?
3. What are her days usually like?
