3278821 - Identifiers Directory - New bank directory file format by SWIFT

Symptom
A new file format, the Identifiers Directory, has been introduced to replace the currently used formats Bank Directory for
SAP, Bank Directory Plus and IBAN Plus. There is a transition time period of two years, until the end of 2025, where the old
formats as well as the new one can be used.

Solution
Installation:
If the new IDD file format is not available in the format structure menu, apply the correction using the attached correction
instructions or via the corresponding Support Package. When applying the correction with Note Assistant, apply the code
correction first, then proceed with the manual correction instructions.
Use:
To switch to the new format you just need to download the corresponding new file instead of the currently used ones, and,
using the fiori app 'Import Bank Directories' (formerly 'Transfer BIC data'), the program RFBVBIC2, the transaction BIC2 or
BIC2S, you just need to change the file structure and the file name parameters in your existing start variants, to get the data
imported. Using the Bank Master Data Cockpit (transaction BIC2M), you can export the country specific parameters into a
file, switch to the new format and import the parameters back. The export/import function is available on the Edit
Parameters screen of the Cockpit.
Known limitations:
1. When using the file record key as the SAP Bank Key, the import of the data in the new format would result into creating of
all banks with a new key and marking for deletion of all existing banks. The reason is a new system of record keys, completely
different to the old ones. This issue will be solved with a later update of the import programs, introducing and processing the
needed cross-reference data, allowing the mapping of the new to old keys. The new banks will then be created with the new
key, changes to existing banks will then mapped to the correct old keys. Update August 2023: The record key cross-reference
implemented with the SAP Note 3345223.
2. It is not possible to use the field BNKA-BICKY with the new format, available in some systems. This issue will be solved
with a later update. Update May 2023: The support of the BICKY field has been added with the SAP Note 3325258.
