THE CRAZY EASTER EGG HUNT

It is Easter Sunday. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and the sky is blue. Tom, Lucy,
and Max are very excited. They go to Grandma’s house for a big Easter egg hunt in her
garden.

Grandma smiles and says, “There are 20 Easter eggs hidden in the garden. Let’s see if you
can find them all!”

The children run into the garden. Tom looks behind a big flowerpot. “I found one!” he shouts.
Lucy finds two eggs under the tree. “These are so pretty!” she says. Max walks near the
shed. He looks inside an old boot. “Hey! There’s an egg in the boot! Why is there an egg in a
boot?” Max laughs.

They search and search. Tom finds three more eggs near the fence. Lucy finds one in the
grass. Max finds two near the flowers. After one hour, they sit down to count the eggs.

“We only found 15 eggs,” says Tom. “Where are the other eggs?”

Just then, they hear a funny noise. “Cluck cluck!” It’s Grandma’s chicken! The chicken is
sitting in a little nest behind the bush. Under her, there are 5 colorful Easter eggs!

Grandma comes and laughs. “I think the chicken wants to help hide the eggs this year!” she
says.

Everyone laughs. The children take the eggs, and then they all sit together on the grass.
They eat chocolate eggs, drink juice, and talk about their funny egg hunt. It is a happy Easter
day!
