In order to do well in this assignment, you must satisfy the assessment criteria given.
The criteria are in form of a rubric. It is the same rubric that will be used to assess
and grade your work.
You are supposed to Design or Create an innovative educational tool/
instrument/ resource or similar item you will use to teach any topic you choose.
Educational tools are used in teaching and learning.
If you are asked to design or create, there must be an element of originality. You are
not taking a tool that has been developed or used by someone before. You are not
definitely going to include educational tools like whiteboards, blackboards,
calculators, laptops, etc. You cannot create these!
You will get it right by designing the following as examples:
• Models
• Charts
• Maps
• Posters
The above are visual educational tools You can also make use of online educational
tools including Apps. For instance, you can use Kahoot, a game-based tool but you
have to design your own questions; you can create a Quiz on Google classroom,
etc. Show your creativity!

Whatever form of educational tool you are going to design, it must satisfy the
following:

• Facilitate deep learning


• Promote student engagement
• Make content accessible
• Make learning fun and enjoyable
• Promote critical thinking
The above are the points that will guide you in your presentation. What is the name
of your tool; Which topic are you going to facilitate using the tool; How is it going to
facilitate deep learning; How is it going to promote student engagement; How is the
tool going to make more content accessible, make learning fun and enjoyable and
allow critical thinking. This is just a guideline you may use. You are not restricted to
it. However, you will satisfy the assessment criteria if you choose to use it.

You are going to upload your presentation to YouTube and submit the link along
with a photo of the tool/instrument/resource you created. The following is a link

You can make your video appear as the one given in the link above where you will
choose to film yourself or just to do a voice overlay.

Make use of the template that I uploaded under announcements. Make sure that
your YouTube link is working before you submit. If I cannot access it, it implies no
submission. It is advisable to send the link to a trusted friend to find out if they can
access it before you submit. Convert the Word template to PDF. Please do not scan
your submission. If you save the Word document directly as a PDF, I will be able to
access the link.

Do not upload someone’s link. We will be able to detect this and you will get a zero.
