My Big Moment

C’était finalement le moment où on célébrerait ma réussite. Les étudiants de cinq collèges

de la ligue de cricket se rencontralent au stade pour la cérémonie de remise des prix. Tout
mon travail dur converge sur ce moment-là.

Étant donné que c’était un événement dirigé par le Ministre de l’Education et une
entreprise privée, il y avait beaucoup de discours. Ils m’ont amené à me sentir frustré
parce que tout cela prolongeait l’attente de mon moment de gloire!

Néanmoins, selon le programme la distribution des trophées et des médailles commencerait

bientôt. J’attendais avec grande empressement mon nom. On a commencé à distribuer
les médailles pour les équipes et maintenant on annoncerait les prix individuels.

On m’a appelé, mais je n’ai pas réagi parce qu’ils avaient mal prononcé « Michel». Je
n’ai pas reconnu mon propre nom et ils l’ont rappelé plusieurs fois. C’est un de mes
amis qui a dit qu’on m’appelait pour recevoir le prix pour le meilleur joueur. C’était avec
horreur, soulagement, et une grande surprise que je me suis dirigé vers l’estrade pour
recevoir mon trophée.
