Organized by
Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding
School of Agriculture, SR University, Warangal

About the FDP :

The Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on "Capacity Building on Crop Improvement Approaches and
Biometrical Tools" is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of faculty members, researchers, and
scientists involved in agricultural education and research. This comprehensive program aims to bridge the
gap between traditional crop improvement methods and modern analytical techniques by providing in-depth
exposure to advanced breeding strategies and biometric tools.
About the SRU:
Sri Rajeshwara Educational Society, the parent body of SR University is a 50-year-old conglomerate of
educational institutions with more than 90,000 students and 17,000 teaching and non-teaching staff
members. SR Educational Academy governs 95 Educational Institutions across Telangana
and Andhra Pradesh.

About the School of Agriculture :

Established in 2020, the School of Agriculture (SoA) has made significant strides over the past four years. With
over 750+ student admissions, the school has rapidly developed robust academic infrastructure, including
well-equipped laboratories and expansive agricultural land. In a notable academic advancement, SoA has
launched postgraduate (M.Sc.) and doctoral (Ph.D.) programs in the academic year 2023-24.

The School of Agriculture follows the ICAR-recommended curriculum, enriched with advanced courses like Data
Visualization and Python Programming, addressing modern agricultural demands. Delivered by top-tier faculty from
premier institutions, the program features state-of-the-art infrastructure, a vibrant learning environment, and strong
academic governance. In 2024–25, it adopted the ICAR VIth Deans' Committee syllabus, further enhanced with
industry-relevant Skill Enhancement Courses.
A major strength is its instructional farm, horticulture garden, and modern protected cultivation units showcasing
diverse crops and technologies. The School guarantees 100% internships with stipends and strong placement
support, ensuring student success and employability.
