I- Reading Comprehension (6marks) :

I’m « George Wassouf » . I live in « Beyrouth » with my wife and my sons Walid and Montasar . I get
along with my wife . But , with the kids, it’s completely the opposite . I ‘m always in conflict with them
because they don’t listen to their mothers ’orders . they even began to refuse to go to school lately .
I think that bringing up children is not easy now in a world where the T.V , the internet and cafes play a
dangerous role . Children think that there are no limits to their freedom . Yet , they must change this
wrong opinion .
I sometimes feel that I ‘m poor . I ‘m poor because I lost my children . I’m poor also because I devote
much time taking care of patients . I’m a member of “Doctors without limits “ club . Some volunteering
doctors work with members of the club to look after their health , to stop their feelings of fear , stress
or fatigue and let them forget about pains .
The work was great . Patients ‘health got better and better . They didn’t feel the time in the presence of
club members . Some of the patients said “ it took me just three days to regain health . Having fun was
the secret . Thank you a lot” .
I learnt from my experience that putting a smile on someone’s face is better than giving money in treating
the patients .
Why don’t you join a club and help ?
