1. In a quaint village nestled between rolling hills, there lived a curious girl named Anya. One day, while
exploring her grandmother’s attic, she stumbled upon an old, dusty compass. Its needle spun wildly before
finally settling on a direction. Fascinated, Anya decided to take it on an adventure.
2. With the compass in hand, Anya set off into the nearby woods, a place filled with tall trees and hidden
trails. She followed the compass as it pointed her deeper into the forest. As she walked, she encountered
various creatures—a family of deer grazing peacefully, colorful birds flitting about, and even a curious fox
that peeked out from behind a bush.
3. After a while, Anya found herself at a beautiful clearing, where a sparkling stream flowed gently. She sat
by the water, feeling a sense of peace and wonder. Suddenly, she noticed a shimmering object at the
bottom of the stream. It was a small, ornate box! Excitedly, she reached in and pulled it out.
4.When she opened the box, a soft glow enveloped her, and she discovered it contained a map. The map
depicted hidden treasures scattered throughout the forest, each marked with a symbol. Anya’s heart raced
at the thought of uncovering these treasures. With the compass and the map, she felt ready to embark on
a grand quest.
5. As she followed the first symbol marked on the map, she realized that this adventure was not just about
finding treasures but also about discovering herself and the beauty of nature. Each step she took led her to
new experiences and lessons, reminding her of the importance of curiosity and courage.
6. By the time the sun began to set, Anya had collected not only beautiful stones and shiny trinkets but also
memories that would last a lifetime. She returned home, the compass and map in hand, eager to share her
stories and inspire others to seek their own adventures.

Q2. Read the following Case Study and answer the questions. (1X10=10
marks) 1. The world’s population is increasing at an unequalled rate. From just 1 billion people in 1800, the
global population crossed 8 billion in 2023. This rapid growth is driven by advancements in medicine,
improved sanitation, and better agricultural practices, which have increased life expectancy and reduced
mortality rates. However, this surge in population has placed immense pressure on resources.
Overcrowding in urban areas has led to issues like unemployment, inadequate housing, and strained
infrastructure. In rural areas, increasing population has resulted in deforestation and overuse of
agricultural land, threatening food security.
2.The population distribution across the globe is uneven. Countries like India and China have the largest
population, contributing to more than one-third of the world’s total. On the other hand, countries like
Canada and Australia have relatively low population densities.
3.Population growth also has environmental implications. More people mean higher energy consumption,
leading to increased greenhouse gas emissions and climate change. Thus, managing population growth is
essential to ensure sustainable development. Initiatives like family planning, education, and women’s
empowerment can play a key role in addressing these challenges.
