Create a visual report

Task Create a bar chart Time 40min


Short Description Using SAP Lumira, create a bar chart to represent the
sales quantity for each of the following products: Deluxe Touring Bike(red),
Deluxe Touring Bike(silver), Deluxe Touring Bike(black), the Deluxe Road
Bike(Shimano) and Deluxe Road Bike(SRAM) based on the customers
Airport Bikes and Alster Cycling on different years.

From Start menu, select SAP Business Intelligence → SAP Lumira →


SAP Lumira Application

File
Click on File → New in the SAP Lumira menu on top. New

Select Microsoft Excel in order to gain the data from the created universe. Microsoft Excel

Click Next, a new window appears. In our case select the file SaleDataH56_disconnec
ted_v2.xlsx
SaleDataH56_disconnected_v2.xlsx and click open. After the metadata is Create
loaded into the Lumira application a new window appears. Click on Create
and wait some seconds.

After acquiring the desired data , the SAP Lumira workspace will appear as
follows:

Calendar year
Within the attributes group, click on next to Calendar year (appears Create a date/time
while hovering over Calendar year) and choose Create a date/time hierarchy
hierarchy…

Determine which attribute belongs to which time enrichment value and Generate
Year Level
select Generate for the Quarter Level (select Year Level and Month Level Month Level
first), then click Confirm.

The resulting hierarchy appears within the dimensions group, but with a new
automatic attribute named Quarter.

Select Column Chart as visual type. Column Chart

Now add the measures and dimensions from the respective groups on the left
to the visualization pane by using the Buttons. For the X-Axis select
Sales Quantity, for the Y-Axis select Material. For Color select Calendar
year.

Add filters for Material via the Add filters button.

For the Material filter choose all five Deluxe Bikes.

The result will look as follows:

By hovering over one of the bars, a popup with further information appears.

Add filters for Customer via the Add filters button.

For the Customer filter the Airport Bikes and Alster Cycling.

Share your visualization

Task Share your created visualization Time 5min


Short Description SAP Lumira offers a wide range of options to share your
data or visualization. Discover them and share your visualization via email.

In order to share the resulted chart, click on the minimized chart down below
and click on :

You can now see the variety of sharing options for your dataset.

By clicking on Export Records you can save your report or visualization to Export Records
your local drive. You have the choice to export the data as detailed dataset or
as aggregated dataset and as csv or xlsx file.

CASE STUDY

Click on your minimized chart again and choose Send by Mail.

Choose an export size and click OK.

This will open a new email draft within your mail application with the
visualization already attached.
