Rajya Puraskar Scout - Notes
1. Eligibility
- Must have completed Tritiya Sopan.
- Minimum 3 months after Tritiya Sopan testing.
- Recommendation from Scout Master.
- Must attend Rajya Puraskar Testing Camp conducted by the State Association.
2. Camp Participation
- Attend 3 overnight camps (not including Pravesh).
- Attend a 5-day Troop Camp (continuous camp with active participation in camp duties and activities).
3. Service Project
- Complete a community service project of 36 hours.
- Example: Clean-up drive, plantation, helping at a hospital/school, or awareness campaign.
4. Proficiency Badges (Any 3 Required)
Choose any 3 from the following:
- First Aider
- Cook
- Cyclist
- Gardener
- Book Binder
- Launderer
- Map Reader
- (State associations may have additional options)

5. Scout Skills
- Knots & Lashings: Reef knot, clove hitch, bowline, sheet bend, square lashing, diagonal lashing, shear
lashing.
- Tent Pitching & Fire Lighting
- Estimation: Distance, height, number using thumb method or pencil method.
- Pioneering: Simple projects like a bridge, flag pole, or camp gadgets.
- Mapping & Compass: Use of compass (cardinal points, bearing), basic map reading and drawing (scale,
symbols)
- First Aid: Treatment of wounds, fractures, CPR, bandaging.
- Flag Etiquette & Patrol System
6. Hike
- Undertake a 10 km hike with overnight stay.
- Maintain a report with map, observation, and sketches.
7. Knowledge Section
- National Symbols: Flag, anthem, emblem.
- Important National Days: Republic Day, Independence Day, Gandhi Jayanti, etc.
- History of Scouting: Lord Baden-Powell, origin of Scouting and BSG in India.
- Scout Law & Promise (by heart).
- Flag Ceremony, National Anthem, and BSG Prayer.
8. Uniform & Discipline
- Must wear complete and proper uniform during camp.
- Maintain good behavior, teamwork, and leadership.
