EMERGENCY STATIONS – FIRE OR ANOTHER INCIDENT

EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS CHANNEL FOR FIRE FIGHTERS – VHF 71


SIGNAL: CONTINUOUS SOUNDING OF THE ALARMS ACCOMPANIED BY 4 LONG BLASTS ON THE WHISTLE.
A person discovering an EMERGENCY situation should sound the nearest Alarm and then advise the type and location of the emergency to the BRIDGE OR
EMERGENCY HEADQUARTERS.
The MASTER will take charge from the BRIDGE. He will relieve the Officer on Watch unless another officer is designated to do so under "Special Duties".
The EMERGENCY SQUAD will muster at the EMERGENCY HEADQUARTERS – the first man to arrive will contact the BRIDGE for information and instructions.
Substitutes: The Chief Officer will substitute for the Master and 2nd Engineer for the Chief Engineer if they are disabled. Duty Engineer Officers will remain
on watch.
The Rescue Boat Crew will be selected from Members of The Emergency Squad. The Duty Quartermaster will man the wheel.
Walkie Talkie Radios - Assigned to persons in charge: Bridge, Emergency Squad, Chief Engineer and Support Squad on CH 03
Wives and Supernumeraries will report to BRIDGE
Further details of the Emergency Organisation are given in the Safety Manual.
At least three copies of this Muster List must be displayed, one on the Bridge, one in the Engine Room and in the Crew's Accommodation.

The Muster List must be kept up-to-date and signed by the Master.
