REVIEW OF LITERATURE

1. The typical entrepreneur

The entrepreneur is a leader, arguably the most important kind of leader, develops as his
initiatives enterprises that have both economic and social relevance. Risk taking remains the
entrepreneurial quality, and in many cases has deep personal implications. Other leaders take
risks too; but in the case of the true entrepreneur, his own success is usually intricately enmeshed
with the enterprise he is promoting. While domain knowledge is a must for one's enterprise to
succeed, discipline being thus important: synthesis, creativity, respect and ethics, all are
important for the entrepreneur.

Of these five minds, however, it is the creative mind that is perhaps most important for
the entrepreneur; the ability to engage in bold, innovative and unconventional thinking being a
definitive must. Curiously, perhaps, for the true entrepreneur, the cause is far more important
than the financial and social rewards that come with it. Indeed, the true blue entrepreneur is
oftentimes, in this way, "altruistic", because he believes deeply in his creation. It is this
statesmanlike Dharma of enterprise, that defines best, perhaps, the quintessential entrepreneur.

2. Promoting entrepreneurship in India
Viren Naidu, It's a known fact that India, today, is an emerging economy that is destined to
achieve milestones, on various fronts, in the near future. However, for India, to acquire the status
of a "developed" nation, it needs to create 100 million jobs, statistics point out!

Experts confirm, in an endeavor to achieve this mark, tapping the potential of the
unemployed and exploring opportunities in the employment market, so that each and every
person plays a crucial role in contributing towards the growth of the Indian economy is
necessary. However, how can one create 100 million jobs? And the million-dollar question is
which industry will absorb people and bridge the employment gap? While experts are busy
contemplating the possibilities of the army, the railways, the government and the private sector
to recruit, speculations about the difficulty in employing in such huge numbers continue to
persist.

So, is there any solution to this problem? The answer is entrepreneurship! With several
organizations understanding the importance of entrepreneurs and the ways in which they can
create jobs for the unemployed, thus paving the way for an enriching economy, they are
partnering with several expert bodies such as institutes, financial firms, etc. to foster all kinds of
entrepreneurship- rural, ICT, social, etc. THE HINDU

ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION

Chi – Square Test

Level of Awareness about entrepreneurial concept among students based on various
factors;
The calculated value ∑ (O-E) 2 / E = 19.14
Degree of freedom = (R-1) (C-1)
= (5-1) (5-1)
= 16
Level of significance = 5%

Table value 16 of DOF and 5% level of significance = 26.296

26.296 > 19.14 Tabulated Value is greater than calculated value.

Hence, Null hypothesis is accepted. Thus it could be concluded that the level of awareness
among students is less.
Hurdles faced by the students when they go for entrepreneurial work
A Financial Burden 7(14%)
B Communication Skills 3(6%)

C Wrong decision making 11(22%)

D Not willing to take risk 7(14%)

Observed Expected Frequency

Frequency(O) E[(7+3+11+7)/4] (O-E) (O- (O-E)2/E
E)2
a 7 7 0 0 0
b 3 7 -4 16 2.857
c 11 7 4 16 2.857
d 7 7 0 0 0

The calculated value ∑ (O-E) 2 / E = 4.5714

Degree of freedom =(n-1)

= (4-1) = 3
Level of significance = 5%

Table value 3 of DOF and 5% level of significance = 7.815

7.815 > 4.5714 Tabulated Value is greater than calculated value.

Hence, Null hypothesis is accepted. Thus, it could be concluded that the level of hurdles faced by
the students are unbiased.
Level of Awareness about the facilities provided by various banks and government among
students

Group Known fact (B) Unknown fact (b)

Gov. facilities (A) 23(46%) 27(54%)

Ab 27 29.5 -2.5 6.25 0.2118
aB 18 20.5 -2.5 6.25 0.3048
Ab 32 29.5 2.5 6.25 0.2118

The calculated value ∑ (O-E) 2 / E = 1.0332

Degree of freedom = (R-1) (C-1)
= (2-1) (2-1)
= 1
Level of significance = 5%

Table value 1 of DOF and 5% level of significance = 3.841

3.841>1 .0332 Tabulated Value is greater than calculated value.

Hence, Null hypothesis is accepted. Thus it could be concluded that the level of awareness about
the facilities provided by various banks and government among students is less.
FINDINGS

The major findings of the study are as follows:

1. The level of awareness among students is almost less.

2. Most of the students are having the fear about wrong decision making.

feel that Finance is also a greater burden for them.

government and the balances were aware of facilities provided by government.
5. About 64 percent of the students were unaware of facilities provided by various

SUGGESTIONS

Most of the students wish to become an entrepreneur if they are providing good
guidance. At present entrepreneurial concept is a small part of study for school students and it is
just a Non-major paper for college students. It is not fair thing. Awareness of entrepreneurial
concept should be feed to the students in detail even at the stage of their School level. In order to
implement, it is necessary to conduct train programs at college level periodicallyfor the welfare
of the students, and it helps to avoid unemployment problems to a greater extent.

CONCLUSION

The awareness of entrepreneurial concept among students is not energetic and it is

not a fair position. The students were not aware of the welfare given by the Government and
banks. Thus it can be concluded that the Educational department has to concentrate on the
awareness of entrepreneurial concept in order to improve the position of the students and to
improve the economic position of the country which helps to avoid unemployment evils.
