THE ANT AND THE DOVE

One day an ant is in the forest. He is very hot and goes to the river to
drink. The ant falls into the river and he can’t swim!

‘Help! Help!’

A dove sees the ant and decides to help him.

She drops a leaf into the water. The ant climbs on the leaf and gets to
the river bank. Later, a man is in the forest. He sees the dove and
decides to shoot her with his bow and arrow. But the ant sees the
man and bites the man’s leg. The arrow misses the dove. The man
goes home and the ant and the dove talk.

‘Thank you, little ant,’ says the dove.

‘Don’t worry,’ says the ant, ‘one good turn deserves another!’
