1. Objective.
A. Content Standards The learners demonstrate understanding of the
importance of proper nutrition and the role of Go,
Grow, and Glow foods in maintaining a balanced
diet and achieving overall health.
B. Performance Standards The learners can classify different types of food
into Go, Grow, and Glow categories and prepare a
simple meal or menu using these food groups to
promote healthy eating habits.
C. Learning Competencies By the end of the lesson, learners will be able to:
A. Identify the three food groups: Go, Grow,
and Glow and their specific functions in the
body.
B. Classify various foods into their respective
categories.
C. Create a balanced meal or menu
incorporating Go, Grow, and Glow foods.
D. Appreciate the value of nutritious eating in
leading a healthy lifestyle.

 Engage  Prompt students to explain their choices by


asking questions:
1. "Why do you think this food is
healthy/unhealthy?"
2. "What happens if we eat too much of this
type of food?

 Explore  The teacher will divide the students into four


groups and provide each group with printed
pictures of various foods. Students will work
together to sort the pictures into three
categories: What makes Me GO, GROW AND
GLOW? Each group will then present their
sorted items and explain their choices.

 Explain  The teacher will provide clear explanation


about the food group.
o Go Foods: Energy-giving foods (rice, bread,
pasta).
o Grow Foods: Body-building foods (milk,
meat, fish).
o Glow Foods: Foods rich in vitamins and
minerals for healthy skin, hair, and immunity
(fruits, vegetables).

 Elaborate  Teacher will conduct a group activity where


students create a "Balanced Plate." Provide
them with a worksheet featuring a blank plate.

Instruction:
Illustrate your healthy meal plates by
choosing a meal session (breakfast, lunch
and dinner). On your plate, clearly label the
Go foods (energy-giving), Grow foods (body-
building), and Glow foods (vitamin-rich) to
showcase a balanced and nutritious meal.

 Evaluation  The teacher will provide a worksheet to the


students. In the worksheet, students will
classify each food item into its corresponding
food group: Go, Grow, or Glow.

 Extend Assignment:

Creative Meal Art Collage:


On a large sheet of paper, draw or paste pictures
(from magazines, printed images, or drawings) to
create an artistic representation of your ideal
balanced plate. Make sure it includes foods from all
three categories (Go, Grow, and Glow). Label each
food item and its category clearly.

 Excellent: 20 points
 Good: 15-19 points
 Satisfactory: 10-14 points
 Needs Improvement: Below 10 points
