S.No COMMISSIONING CHECKS Remarks
1 Refer to Pre-Commissioning checklist and ensure all checks are completed
2 Check cable terminations for tightness
3 Terminate motor terminals, ensure cable are copper
4 Connect flow switches
5 Connect controls cabling. Keep Circuit breaker in Compressor Controller OFF
6 Clean Starter panel of all metal burrs and dust. Blow contactor and SCR with
compressed air or Air blower
7 Clean Unit control panels
8 Switch ON power to starter
9 Measure Incoming Voltage at Startet (380V – 420V)
10 Switch ON Starter MCB
11 Measure Control voltage should be 230-245V
12 Switch ON controls power
13 Check operation of Oil sump heaters. Record Ampere
14 Check operation of Compressor heaters. Record Ampere
15 Wait 01 hour and open all valves in chiller.
16 Through strainer circulate water through chiller and condenser and record
pressure drop.
17 Start Oil Pump. Measure Oil pump ampere and adjust Net Oil pressure. ( For
Centrifugal Chiller Only)
18 Put Thermostatic Expansion Valve in AUTO Mode ( for centrifugals only)
19 Disconnect Motor starter output terminals.
20 Through control logic check operation of starter.
21 Incase of Wye Delta check contactor for correct sequence.
22 Connect Motor starter output terminals.
23 Check condenser fans for correct rotation ( incase of Air-cooled chiller)
24 Through controller Jog Compressor motor and check for correct rotation.
25 Start Chiller 24 hours after switching ON Oil heater.
26 Calibrate Motor current display to actual consumed
27 Check Net Oil Pressure and adjust if required ( for centrifugal chiller only)
28 Take pictures of the parameters at 50%, 75% and 100% Load
29 With Liquid Injection OFF record Discharge superheat ( Centrifugal chiller only)
30 Record all programmable setpoints on a separate sheet.
31 Check Low water temperature trip
32 Check High Condenser pressure safety trip
33 Check Low Evaporator Pressure trip
34 Check that chiller unload at 104% FLA
35 Ensure chiller unloads at Leaving chilled water setpoint
36 Check for Chilled water flow safety trip
37 Check for Condenser water flow safety trip
38 Check Pressure with calibrated gauges
39 Check temperature with calibrated thermometer
40 Record log sheet for 8 hour operation
41 0 %– 100% load time
41 100% - 0% unload time
9. Summarised comments on condtion and operation of unit.
