FOR 5 MARKS PROBLEMS

1. Find the ratio of population of two energy states of the laser, the transition between
which is responsible for the emission of photons of wavelength 6948 Å. Assume the
temperature as 300 K.

2.The ratio of population of two energy levels, out of which upper one corresponds for a
metastable state is 1.059 X 10--30 . Find the wavelength of the light emitted at 300 K.

3. Two lasing levels having ratio of population densities 1.114 X 10 --33 yields the
stimulated photons in the optical range. Find the wavelength and frequency of the emitted
photons, assume T= 300K.
